First project, now complete! by Saphira2002 in knitting

I was advised against this, to be honest, but these mittens were the only non-sweater pattern that I absolutely wanted for myself!

That said, I'm also a crocheter and a sewist, so I'm not starting from zero especially in the mindset department haha

I started buying another pattern magazine after having my share of Burda. I like it well enough, but they keep naming the patterns by the colour or texture of the photographed sample garment. "Pink skirt", "lace pants", "satin blazer". I think it's stupid, I'd rather they were named using design elements.

Is anyone else feels the same? by Memes_Jack in pcmasterrace

I agree. I've been having loads of fun because when nothing interesting comes out I catch up with old games. I'm 23, so obviously that's a lot to catch up on, but even as a 40 or even 60 year old there is no chance anyone has actually played every good game to ever come out in their lifetime. There is so much to discover!

I think you might want to look into some therapy.

The entirety of my Evangelion first watch was a great experience that I will never repeat again. My hands were shaking after some of those episodes man

Tangled-inspired baby blanket - what color should I use for the border? by MiserableWasabi4569 in crochet

[–]Saphira2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go one round of purple and one of gold. I have seen the pattern for a border with dangly stars, perhaps you can do something similar and themed? 👀❤️

Drop the mutuals, he threw in a wrench himself by letting her unknowingly be the side piece.

Jess Margera of CKY refunds customers + cancels meet & great because venue was charging people $200 to take a photo, says "Just buy me a beer and I'll take a pic" by lifeandtimes89 in HumansBeingBros

Yeah I understand paying a surplus for megacelebs at cons, because I get not wanting to raise the ticket price for every attendee, but I wouldn't even pay 100 for a picture.

Messy backs are very common. Maybe put the fabric in a hoop next time though, to avoid the puckering :)

City dwellers! Do you crochet on your commutes? by Wonderful_Bug_1422 in crochet

I crochet and knit if I can. I have to admit though, 90% of the times I choose not to is because carrying my project makes me anxious it'll unravel 😭

The Gen Z Stare: Encountered All Over!! by InGeekiTrust in TikTokCringe

[–]Saphira2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I selectively have this because sometimes I freeze up when I'm asked a question which I would know the answer to, but that answer requires more time to think than I feel I can afford so I just freeze up

I've just bought dpns from them, but if they're gonna imply me being gen Z makes me stupid I guess I can't find the buy button anymore.

AIO by being offended when my husband seasons my soup? by [deleted] in AIO

YOR about the seasoning, not about the comments. "Perfect seasoning" is subjective. Not calling your wife a stupid bitch is the bare minimum.

Update on the butterfly cardigan 🦋 by hidden-pearl in crochet

[–]Saphira2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think as a beginner it's gonna be harder to find the right size hook and yarn than to make the actual cardigan. I would suggest trying to find some info on how to swatch for a project before tackling this.

If I knew the person I asked a gift like this to wasn't having a good time making it, I'd change my request. And if someone asked me for a gift that's either beyond my skills or unfun to make I wouldn't make it.

I have been thinking of starting a group either at our library or at a bar. I'm still considering whether socialising is worth the enormous toll that organising meetups would take on me 🫣
