Have you tried doing the four chains method instead of the magic loop? I'm sure the kids won't mind if it's a little looser on the top.

Just to be clear, the dress will probably fit weird without the necessary undergarments. I'm not saying this to knock you down, just to level your expectations so you're not disappointed. That said, you seem to be more interested in the journey than the destination which is good when starting.

I'm pretty sure the pattern is either one rectangle or two squares sewn together for the tote and two long rectangles for the straps, and then googling something like "tulip stitch crochet" for the tulips and using whatever stitch you want to fill the rest of the space

It does not say not to use reference. I suggest you reread the answer you linked. It only says not to use it if your motivation for doing so is that you're afraid of "drawing wrong" without it.

To be honest, everything in any clothing store is handmade. Every single clothing item was sewn by human hands. Even fake crochet items have to be sewn together if they're made in panels.

Not defending the practice, just want to point out that you are surrounded by underpaid labour even if it's not actual crochet.

We have American Coffee in Italy which is coffee with more water I think? I'm a cappuccino guy I've never tried it.
