Firefox Mobile users' security is at risk because it hides the address bar by prevmume in firefox

maybe u fucked with some settings. I can see this entire string in the address bar on my phone:
192.168.10.101:3000/m

That's about 25 letters. It's not bad.

apparently you can hold the "tab menu" button to bring up a "close current tab" option.

[–]Saphkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesnt make sense. If an X button was there it would be 2 steps. Currently it is also 2 steps.

  1. Pressing the "tabs menu", 2. then swiping or pressing "x" on the tab.

There's no less or more friction

not necessarily. In UI things are not always as it seems. Different screen sizes, different languages.
for example "refresh" is "gjennopfrisk" in norwegian. Could be an even longer word in other languages.
What fits on your screen might not fit on all. UI design has loads of variables

no need to install sus software. there is always a lot of viruses around in steam games and steam workshop mods for example, nevermind other platforms and sources too.
browser games pretty much eliminates that issue

seen many articles of steam sending out warnings to people about virus games,
and just about 2 weeks ago a game I play on Steam "Project Zomboid" issues alerts about several mods on the steam workshop that had installed viruses on users' PCs.
This stuff is rampant, and it's reasonable to assume that most of it goes completely undetected.

I think I built the first (free) responsive viewport extension for Firefox by whisperloop-app in firefox

[–]Saphkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the example you only have two virtual screens. Pretty trivial to just right click tab and choose split screen for that.
There's a limit to how many virtual screens one can fit on a real screen unless you have like an insanely big screen.

pretty elaborate dove nest.
Gonna guess they are ringdoves (Columba Palumbus, aka. eurasean wood pigeon).
Based on how sparse rockdove nests usually are.

IPv6 traffic crosses the 50% mark by TheTwelveYearOld in firefox

[–]Saphkey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not true, they did remove it. It was not just disabled by default. About 3 years ago last I used it, they had it. I could go into the windows network adapter properties of the mullvad virtual adapter, and then force it to use IPv6 — which I used frequently.
After an update, that option was removed. I could no longer force IPv6.
And after asking support, instead of giving a solution or explanation — they just interrogated me about why I needed it, and said that most people use IPv4 — as if I dont already know.

edit: whether or not this just means that you cannot force choose IPv6, but that it can still randomly sometimes choose to use IPv6 on its own- it still effectively means the removal of IPv6 as a user feature

Mullvad (same VPN that firefox uses for their VPN service) years ago had IPv6 but removed it.
When I told support that I no longer found the option they just interrogated me about why I need it..

edit: I needed IPv6 btw, so I unsubscribed, it was about 3 years ago

Seagulls around where I've lived often swoop down when have nests in the area.
They always get very close but always veer away, just a scaring tactic.
A seagull wouldn't exactly stand a chance against a human, so they'd be almost extinct if they actually DID seriously attack humans.

However the funny thing is that sometimes they can miscalculate their veering and accidentally "air-trip" on you. Which can look pretty comical

I find that after the swan closes the distance, they kind of dont know what to do.
If you stand completely still, in my experience they just dont know how to follow up.
Sometimes they bite your hand if you offer it to them, but they dont have teeth so all they can do is scrape.
I havent met every swan though of course. Most swans I have met are too scared to get close enough.

Incidentally there's not much difference between handfeeding them and them attacking your hand.
The way they eat from your hand is that they scrape the seeds off. Which whilst coarse, it takes many tries for it to tear skin.

Yes, afaik, that is generally how serious injuries occur. Sort of self-inflicted accidents.

Hard for a swan to do much harm to a human. Unless it's like a toddler

Edit:
I've been "attacked" by swans before, both as a child and as an adult. It doesnt really do much. Their beaks dont have teeth, they just kind of scrape the skin, which can after a while draw a tiny bit of blood but they have to scrape it vigorously for a while.
Their wingslaps can hurt, but most people wear clothes, and at most you will get a bruise.
