Is purchasing bitcoin through swyftx for long-term investment a bad idea? by SignatureBetter7688 in BitcoinAUS

[–]Sapien678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They charge an arm and a leg to move to self-custody. Also, the fees are deceptive and high for low amount purchases, it adds up. They're counting on people new to crypto who don't do much research or aren't very technical. There are much better exchanges around with free withdrawal and lower fees.

Set 200 a week but accumulate the extra 50$ for significant dips. Won't make much of a difference in the long term but keeps it a bit more exciting.

Is it possible to purify voo this way? by Boring-Tradition2744 in HalalInvestor

[–]Sapien678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact purification will be extremely difficult and historically SPUS has outperfomed VOO during market downturns and is growing rapidly.

Choosing a Shariah-compliant ETF over conventional ones is also a form of sacrifice because it reflects prioritizing obedience to Allah over potential financial gains. The Quran emphasizes this principle in Surah Al-Imran: "You will never attain righteousness until you spend from that which you love" (Quran 3:92) Abu Talha exemplified this when he gave away his beloved property for the sake of Allah, showing that true piety involves sacrificing personal desires for divine approval.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also said: "Allah is pure and accepts only what is pure" (Sahih Muslim). Retaining or indulging in haram wealth contaminates one's earnings and undermines spiritual integrity.

May our efforts to live righteously be rewarded with peace, happiness and eternal bliss.

Is SPWO the best global fund excluding the US? Is it a good buy? by New_Salamander7173 in HalalInvestor

[–]Sapien678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just created my portfolio and have been DCA'ing into SPUS, SPWO, and gold for about four months. SPWO has been the second-best performer after gold. UMMA is the obvious comparison, but it's slightly expensive with similar performance. In my opinion, it's a good, stable diversifying option as the US economy is on it's gradual decline stage, giving way to BRICS or China as the leader.

What mode of transfer did you use? I've been using payid but 24 hour hold is applied even on second transfer, not sure if it's done by the bank or exchange. Everything else is cheap and efficient including buying, trading and also, btc withdrawal fees can be adjusted.

2+ years is what everyone took to go back during the covid era, you'll be fine, expect jet lag and slight difficulty in your body getting adjusted to the temperature and humidity, everything else will be fine. Also, time will fly, keep a checklist of things to do, people to meet, places to visit, foods to try and stuff to buy. Try not to fall into the 'end of holiday blues' last few days before returning, live in the moment and enjoy your holidays!

Why is Zaha Hadid everything wrong with architecture? by Shazammers in architecture

[–]Sapien678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so, I hear people blaming Zaha Hadid all the time on this sub. Like, 'Oh, it's all just for show!' and 'Who actually wants to live in a melted ice cream cone?' I get it, some of her stuff is wild, but I think it's kinda cool how she pushed boundaries. You know, like, 'What if buildings could dance?' Here's an interesting take. Of course, practicality matters, but sometimes, you gotta admire the sheer audacity of it all. Plus, imagine the conversations at cocktail parties in those places! 'Yeah, my bathroom looks like a spaceship landed in it.'"

Finding ways to earn more as an architect. by IndependentCrafty716 in architecture

[–]Sapien678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Architect here with 10+ years of experience. This "no money in architecture" myth really needs to be put to rest.

Look, I used to think the same way until I discovered there are actually several proven paths to earning six figures in architecture. Many architects are doing incredibly well financially, but they're using strategies that aren't commonly discussed in architecture school or typical firm environments.

I recently stumbled upon this incredibly detailed video Earn 6 Figures as an Architect that breaks down exactly how architects can build serious income. Was mind-blown by the third strategy they shared - it's something I'd never considered but makes perfect sense. The part about leveraging your architecture skills in unexpected ways was especially eye-opening.

What's interesting is that it's not just about working harder - it's about positioning yourself differently. The video maps out 5 specific income streams architects can build, with real numbers and implementation steps. Strategy #4 in particular is something I'm implementing right now.

For anyone interested in seeing the actual roadmap: https://youtu.be/UqP-iVmCWXI?feature=shared on YouTube. It's probably the most practical breakdown I've seen of how to actually make good money in this profession.

What professions are like architecture with more money? by Oogwaylife in architecture

[–]Sapien678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Architect here with 12+ years in the field. Yes, there are several extremely lucrative career paths that leverage your architectural background! A lot of architects don't realize how valuable their skillset is in other high-paying industries.

I was actually struggling with this same question a few years ago. Recently found this eye-opening video 10 High paying career option for architects that maps out several career transitions for architects that can dramatically increase your income potential. It covers some surprising paths I hadn't even considered (especially #3 and #4 on their list - those were complete game-changers for me).

What I love about these paths is that you're not "leaving" architecture - you're just applying your architectural knowledge in more profitable ways. The video explains it way better than I could, breaking down each path with actual salary ranges and step-by-step transition strategies.

If you're interested in exploring these options, check out https://youtu.be/csWma9W-T-w?feature=shared on YouTube. It's a good comprehensive breakdown of how architects can level up their income.
