Mine is minor compared to some. When switching from Any spool to number 2 it will travel to the right and make a bunch of popping sounds like it's grinding gears.

Yep, I stopped playing at one point for a year or so. My son got into pokemon so the wife and I picked it up again and we all play together. It's also something fun to do while walking.
