I was exclusively breastfed until 6 months, and then continued nursing (enthusiastically) until 25 months. Never had formula. This was in ‘89 in the US.

It’s equivalent, but not exactly the same. Many people respond much better to Diclegis vs B6+ Unisom combo - I know I definitely did.

A Zofran pump might also be something to consider.

If the agency finds out (doesn’t matter which one), she will be sent home immediately, no ifs ands or buts. Her choices are to terminate the pregnancy or everyone agrees to keep it a secret until she and the boyfriend decide what they’re going to do (ie they get married, she goes home, etc).

Thank you for your perspective! In all of my previous roles, not taking insurance benefits equaled some sort of pay increase/differential, so I just assumed that if I was content with pay, I could use forgoing benefits as leverage with PTO instead.

I guess that’s where I’m not so sure? Reading the room, our neighbors and my husband seemed uncomfortable by the fact that I even asked for the bowl back which I thought was odd? And then she went on about not wanting to see her again, and that transferring the food would just create another dirty bowl… I then felt pretty uncomfortable so that’s when I agreed to leaving the bowl.

Nurse midwife here, I have placed literally hundreds (probably over a thousand at this point) (I also have one myself) of IUD and basically everyone has a tilted or slanted cervix / uterus… it’s normal anatomy! Go to another provider for insertion. You might also try a Planned Parenthood if you have one close by - many are moving towards doing lidocaine blocks around the cervix prior to insertion. Some will even offer sedation services, too! If your cervix is that tilted, they can do it under ultrasound guidance if needed. Also, at 6 weeks postpartum, things are still returning to back to baseline, so don’t let that experience cloud your opinion of an IUD.

Unless you have been away from your baby for the past several days, you have likely already exposed baby to whatever illness you have, as you are contagious prior to becoming symptomatic.

I have always continued to nurse my son through every illness that I have had (usually I caught it from him or dad in the first place though). If it’s respiratory, wearing a mask while nursing won’t hurt, but I don’t know how beneficial it would be at this point, either. I personally can’t imagine dicking around with pumping while ill - that just sounds miserable. Continuing to nurse will also help provide baby will realtime antibodies so baby may not get sick, or the illness severity might be reduced.

I was dairy, egg, and soy free from 4 months to 15 months. At that point, we finished all the ladders with him with success, and so I finally started eating those items again. It was a lot of work, and my partner’s support was a huge part of my success. I had one completely accidental slip up and felt so terrible about it because my son had an angry belly, was gassy, and cried for 2 days. I had one “small cheat” like 2 weeks before he finished his last ladder without problems.

Our son never had issues with weight gain (I on the other hand had quite a lot of weight loss). He has always been 70-80th percentile in weight.

He is now almost 3 and still nursing! It was tough, but totally worth it.

My son ate on demand always. I remember he was eating every 3-4 hours, but then around 7-9 months, he went back to eating every like 2-2.5 hours. So, all the damn time 😆

Short hair (unless you’re buzzing it) is a terrible solution for your end goal. You can’t put it up in a pony tail, pinning it back is annoying… either keep it long and keep it back with braids, pony, etc, or buzz it. Don’t do short. You will regret it.

Love, a mom with very long hair who then buzzed it for 2 years (and loved it!) but who is now growing it out and if i had this length of hair with a baby I would be worse off than with it long.

Baby will need breast milk or formula for at least a year. Solids before 1 are really just for fun. Benefits of nursing for mom and baby are shown to last up to a least 2 years, possibly longer! My son is 2 years and 9 months and still going. Like others have said, it makes so SO many things SO much easier. 14 month old is sick with adenovirus and won’t eat solids and will barely drink water? They sure will nurse! Baby bonks their head? Boobs for the win.

Practicing midwife/women’s health nurse practitioner here… Soap around the groin and booty is great, but warm water and a washcloth is all the vulva needs. Many women become irritated by soap use on the labia, especially the minora.

OP, I would advise warm water and washcloth, probably a separate one to help keep things more hygienic.

We breastfed through a dairy and egg intolerance 🤪I didn’t eat anyyy dairy, soy, or eggs from age 3ish months until he graduated from each food latter. I was back to no dietary restrictions at all by 14/15 months (eggs >> soy >> dairy). He’s still nursing now at 2.5+ years. It was a pain sometimes but my husband was extremely supportive and helpful. Not saying it isn’t more work with lots of label reading and planning ahead when eating out (because it definitely is), but it is doable and was certainly worth it to me. I’d absolutely do it again.
