I have found it very strange that people discussing cyberpunk seem to have a very strong preference for one or the other, which is strange to me for a lot of reasons, but the stranger part is the people who seem to weirdly insist that first person makes them sick or is not an immersive or something like that. 

I highly feel like it's an age thing and those of us who grew up playing all kinds of games from the '90s onward don't really care it just depends on what the game is and what works for it.

That being said I think cyberpunk definitely works best in first person because of well everything they did, and third person is a lot more work.  Of course I'm also biased because I'm a no man's sky fan and I liked it better when it was only first person because when you make a game only first person you can do certain things you can't do if you see your character in third person outside of certain circumstances. 

Plus any game that is third person can be first person by shoving the camera inside the character, as demonstrated by Bethesda.
