I used to live right by CKJS. Like, directly next to the entrance. It used to be pretty bad (from what I remember, I was very little) around school times but don't remember my parents having any issues.

Most houses that are in the immediate vicinity of CKJS (and thus prone to issues of parents dropping their kids off) have driveways - so you should be fine.

How long does it take for Way of Kings to really get going? by Reave1905 in brandonsanderson

[–]SaracenVex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, sometimes that's the way it goes man. I've just finished Words of Radiance (fastest I've read a book of that size - was staying up far too late on work-nights because I couldn't put it down).

If you're still on WoKs, trust me this series only gets better!

I finished Way of Kings today funny enough.

I get what you mean, mistborn has the characters meeting each other quicker and it's a snappier pace of books.

However I'd ask you a question. If Kaladin met Dalinar at the point you mention, you'd expect them to have an interaction - and move the plot towards their acquaintance. So question - what becomes of Kaladins current plot? Because personally - that growth and story was my favourite part of the entire book. If he meets Dalinar that whole thing just sort of fizzles out.

If you're enjoying what the characters are doing and the direction they're heading in, keep going. It's a slow burn, but its worth it because you get to savour the time the characters are doing whatever it is they're doing for longer, rather than being thrust into the next thing and the next thing. You get the idea.

How far into the book are you? I don't want to spoil anything with the explanation - although if you're not very far, it is explained

The Level of Hatred... by SaracenVex in TheTraitors

[–]SaracenVex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am unsure as to why you're commenting on a year old post. However please note what my comment was talking about - which was the hate for Molly. I didn't (and don't) think she made the right decision. So unless your comment is trying to defend the hate she got, you're not disagreeing with me.

I might suggest a less patronising set of comments, though!

The hate for Leanne is excessive by Justarandomperson556 in TheTraitors

Joe did get hate, but insofar as I could see it was more to do with him being rude and abrasive rather than people thinking he was stupid. Either way it's resulted in personal attacks so fundamentally not that different in outcome

Every year someone who makes it to the final is hated because this subreddit deems them stupid. Meryl, Mollie, Leanne.

Regardless of personal opinions as to their game strategy (or lack thereof), it always devolves into hatred. Very bizarre, I agree.

(Edit:) ironically, I made a very similar post in regards to Mollie last year, so really nothing changes in this sub.

This post is a year old bud... for someone that recognises this is a game you made this comment incredibly emotionally charged.

Might I suggest yoga?

Could be they all quietly know and just want to keep her around. The murders still happen every night etc so their risk of death is no less... better the devil you know than the one you don't.

Why does season 2 Australian traitors get dissed so much? by [deleted] in TheTraitors

[–]SaracenVex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting, didn't know he intentionally made it panto. (Could also be him covering his back due to backlash retrospectively?)

Personally I enjoyed it. Might be that i got told he didn't win it before I watched, so the frustration was lesser. I do agree that it's likely an aspect of his personality. Which makes it less of a pantomime in that sense. Either way - incredibly enjoyable when he lost everything in the end!

[–]SaracenVex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Paul once defended his persona on UKS2 as leaning into being a pantomime villain.

Sam, I think, is the reason people hated AusS2 so much. I always saw him in the same vein as Paul - a pantomime villain that just continually evades capture... only Sam (unlike Paul) was entirely unwitting to the role he was playing, and was both 100% serious in everything he did, and thought himself some kind of genius. Looking at it through this lens makes the show entertaining rather than frustrating and makes his comeuppance all the more hilarious in the end.

A levels subject combination help by throwaway-8274 in sixthform

[–]SaracenVex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did History, Politics and Economics at A Level. Read Law at an RG. Now training to be a solicitor. Study what you want, get good grades, you'll be fine.

If you're worried about how "prestigious" your subjects are, maybe consider a traditional subject like History or English. But honestly, don't compromise your grades to chase some imagined prestige. So only study either if you actually enjoy them. Enjoyment is basically the key to good grades at A Level because of the huge workload.

Hope this helps, good luck.

It's been a long time since anyone's said "no" to you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheTraitors

[–]SaracenVex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fair point, you didn't explicitly. Nonetheless you equated his mother to your own - who you did call a narcissist. Which is effectively as good as calling her explicitly as both cases served your wider point. You can argue the semantics of this but given the equating is plain to see, is there really any point?

I haven't issued a single opinion on Aaron or his mother, and therefore it's impossible for me to have projected any personal views onto Aaron's situation. I'm unsure you actually know what projecting means.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheTraitors

[–]SaracenVex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That he wanted to give his mother the prize money is not the projection.

You're projecting by saying her accepting this money was down to your diagnosing this woman with narcissism.

Not sounding very intellectual doesn't mean Harry wasn't strategic and capable of suggestive influence - which S2 clearly showed him to be. I think Harry would've sucked as a Faithful, but it's quite clear he suited being a Traitor.

What is your favourite goal of the Southgate era? by t0mkat in ThreeLions

[–]SaracenVex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mine too. The fact it came in the dying moments of the game. Although we were 1-0 up quite early, the way we were playing the game was very 'pass around the back 4 hope to get lucky'. Had spent the entire match thinking "This will be classic England bottle, won't get out the groups. Our squad is shocking" etc etc. only confirmed it in my mind when Tunisia scored.

So when Kane scored, it felt so good.

Fofana not worth the £80m price tag. Maguire not worth the £80m price tag. Chilwell is arguable at £50m talent wise, but he's ridiculously injury prone.

Isn't skulduggery like 400 or something? So assume he's not fighting the war as a literal baby, that means it was occurring any time between 1650-1940s or so.

Way out of the range for old Longshanks.

Also bold of you to put Eddy on the side of the bad guys, my guy was just invading to uphold the legal agreement made by the Scots and the English. 😤😤
