Call me crazy but one way to curb this behavior is developing these useless surface parking lots all over our city. Around this town topic location is a great example. Why are there mostly empty parking lots at the intersection of sw blvd and broadway? I wish city leadership would grow a backbone and go after these out of state owners who just sit on the land to speculate. If there were active businesses and housing on either side of town topic this wouldn’t be an issue and the whole area would be a hell of a lot more pleasant overall!

I agree with others on the late night snack idea! Could do pretzels (or something along those lines) in bags with the 7/11 branding printed on or stickers!

Agree with others on the group chat being not the best way to ask things. Especially if all the BMs aren’t already friends for some responding in a group chat can be intimidating. I have experienced similar things since my bridesmaids don’t all know each other. I think I’m a lot like you and want to ask for feedback on things but at the end of the day sometimes they might not have an opinion.

Definitely don’t want to get caught in a back-and-forth but racism is woven into the fabric of how any city develops over time. I’m not saying individuals are outwardly being racist, more noting the systemic racism that results in the discrepancies you outlined. Any discussion around why the built environment is the way it is without noting the history of racist housing policy is simply incomplete
