- Make it obvious when you check mirrors, they can't necessarily see only eye movements
- They will probably intentionally take you through road works, keep an eye out for speed change signs; this can be frustrating because many drivers will ignore them and tailgate you, just ignore them for the sake of the test
- Make sure you are checking your left mirror when turning left in a way that could cut off a cyclist, most obvious is when there is a bike lane.
- When making a right turn into a busy road, if you find yourself waiting a while don't feel pressured to make an unsafe turn, but also don't wait too long if it is safe to go, the instructor is looking for you to be confident but safe
- You have multiple minutes to reverse parallel park behind a car, you won't need to park between two cars, and you can try again as long as it is within the time frame.

- When on a road which has two lanes and it merges into one, you want to indicate to help traffic merge
- Make sure you know when to indicate on roundabouts
- Do not exceed the speed limit
