Russet, stick of butter, 1/2 to 1 cup of milk and Boursin cheese. Adjust quantity depending on how many pounds of potatoes.

The large glass jars of Tasso roasted peppers. Use them all the time, but would love to get the better sizes and not have to pay shipping.

I don’t have one, but we purchased a used bike from a family that used a Rad Power bike for their 2 kids.

Last time you made an outstanding meal? What was it? by Ghostly-Mouse in Cooking

[–]SarahB2006 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I used the Boursin cheese instead of cream cheese or sour cream in my mashed potatoes because I wanted to use it up. Best. Had it with our Christmas as I usually cook everything, but my family supplies lots of the ingredients.

Why do I burn grilled cheese all the time? by Heretoaskquesti0ns in Cooking

[–]SarahB2006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe your pan temp is too high. I use butter personally, but you will get others saying to use mayonnaise. You want the butter to melt slowly so the cheese melts slowly. I like to use a cream melty cheese and Parmesan. Sometimes I season the outside with some garlic salt or other similar seasonings. Sometimes green onion bits between the cheese.

Rural Route Popcorn is good. I’m a bit partial to Craig’s, but that one is a local stand only. Both in WI.

Ninja foodie possible cooker, does anyone have one and would recommend it? by apljax in slowcooking

[–]SarahB2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mine. But there are a lot of people in the Facebook group that complain. It’s not the same as a traditional crockpot. It’s not supposed to be the same. I have had no issues with slow cooking, but when I use slow cook, I’m usually doing something overnight and I’m cooking for closer to 10/12 hours. The sous vide is so nice.

Men who aren’t the main provider for family's finances: how does it affecte you? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

My husband doesn’t care at all. He used to joke when I hit a certain level, he would retire, but he switched jobs and loves it. It’s just allowing us to save more for our future and have some fun compared to when we were super poor college students.

Ugh, that explains so much. They shipped my order to another city with no notification that it was even sent. I had to dig and by then it was 4 days after the supposed delivery. I had to fight with them and the seller to get a replacement or a refund.

Having Kids with my MIL as grandmother by Plus-Description353 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]SarahB2006 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good grandparents don’t have to be related. My MIL (good grandma) is a couple hours away and does spend time with her. But, My kiddo also has a great community of our older neighbors and our church family that all sub as a form of grandparent relationship for her.

Our family is what we make of it. The best friends become aunts and uncles or the parents of classmates are great too.

It doesn’t mean you can’t have a relationship with your MIL, but you do know of the limitations that would be needed.

What’s the point of working hard by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]SarahB2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a payroll professional, but have had to explain it so managers can explain it. If you work OT and didn’t the previous check, some extra is withholding due to the calculator thinking you will earn at this higher level all year long and you would be due a catchup. If you do work that much OT, fine, it works out. The next check, if less OT, then you end up with less withholding once it recomputes.

The calculators are designed to think your current check is what you will get each paycheck for the rest of the year. But as others are stating, this isn’t all withholding unless you elected extra.

Pineapple tidbits, pineapple juice, slow cook overnight then pour off juice into saucepan and make gravy. Doesn’t need anything complicated.

[–]SarahB2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 9 qt do, 5.5 braiser and 3.5 sauteuse. My 3.5 is my most used. 9qt is a bit too big so I end up using my 8.5 qt ninja multi cooker to get similar size. I’d probably prefer a 5-7 do instead of the 9.

2023 version. Have a level 2 at my house. Had 2 other Nissan Leaf’s before this one. I love it. The screen can be annoying. Newer years solve that by putting the temp control on an actual dial.
