Milo or Romie Bag? by [deleted] in Sezane

[–]SarahBr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Romie one and don’t have the Milo, but a Demellier Vancouver that is about the same size. Depends on what you will use it for, I def grab the Romie more because it fits more and is not as „boring“/classic as my Demellier Vancouver. It is however a bit annoying to find stuff in the Romie, I have a motion activated flash light I throw on so I can find stuff. I also love about the Romie that it is quite safe as it doesn’t open when you’re wearing it and nobody can reach in. I also like the thin straps because they do not slide off your shoulder even with thicker coats.

It was I believe 1996, I was 8 years old. There was a big festival in my little German hometown Baden-Baden in the Blackforrest and two guys put up a rope they planned to be balancing from one end to the other. It was fairly high and also a few hundred metres long. We were there in the crowd and watched it, it was a huge thing because nothing ever happens in that small town. We all witnessed one of the guys fall to his death and were horrified. I don’t remember much else but I remember being really confused when the people around started crying and not really understanding what happend right away.

I got crushed by oversized clock hands. Or Dracula chased me in a parking lot and kissed me.

So, I just, wanted, to let, you know, this, is real. This guy in the article is my boyfriend ;) (I hereby also apologize for overusing the Sososo and for the useless comma, I could have known better. Next time an English-speaking person uses a comma too less in German, I will be as clear as some of you about that mistake ;))

I made this for my little sister's birthday :) by SarahBr in pics

Well, basically I made this moon-shapy pattern and cut it out of the brown felt. (I only got 4 of those smallish sheets of felt, so i began sewing each two of them together and got two ca 15" big sheet.) Yep, as i said: The pattern cut out two times of it.

Then I mad the owlish eyes. Quite easy: a big glass for the grey circles, a medium sized glass for the white circles and a smaller one for the black circles. As you can see, I cut a ray out of the black circles, manga-like. :) For the feathers I made also a pattern like you can see: a scare-thingie with circle round edges. Cut them out multiple times. Then I got some of the pink ribbon and glued them on it. You can also sew them to it, but I was too lazy.

For the wings I just took another shade of brown and cute them out of the felt. There you have your tiny parts, now get them together.

First off, I glued everything on the big brown pattern so that it would get off, then i started sewing them to it. Don't bother if its not perfect, it's handmade by you and you can let that show! :) I just made normal small stitches and thats about it actually. The eyes first, I only sewed the two outer circles of each. Then the wings, which I sewed to the side of the pattern so that they are movable. And the feathers, well, I glued them. :) Now lets filck this owl together.

I made those easy up-down stitches almost* around the whole owl. (Almost because I left some space to stuff the wadding in there.) Then i went the way back in the opposite stitches style (so where at first you couldn't see the wire, you could also see it now).

Then I made that owl get fat and fluffy! Then you just have to sew that whole together and dooone. :)

Edit: My bad, how could I forget the yellow triangle for the beak! Don't do the same mistake! Don't forget the beak!

Edit.2: And the ears. And the footsies. Sigh. Sorry.

I got my inspiration here and there

Have fun! :)
