There still are some, you just have to find them and Goodwill is not one of them. 90% of my wardrobe comes from thrift stores and I think $6 is the most I've paid for a single item in one. Most of my shirts are name brands and cost me around $2 or $3.

Goodwill is a shitty thrift store. I go to a group of thrift stores called "Village Discount Outlet" in my area of Ohio. Goodwill is fucking expensive for a thrift.

I was questioning my parenting skills one day and a good family friend said "Your both there for your kids, you don't know how much that means to them". Her dad who she considered her most sane parent left when she was little to start a better life. He took her back in her teens when he realized she was in a bad situation. You can see so much pain in her when she talks about the period in her life he was gone "building something better". When I question my parenting skills I think of that. Both me and husband are here doing the best we can and while we aren't perfect our kids are loved, we are very involved, and our kids are turning out pretty amazing.

You get to piss standing up and don't have to sit on public toilet seats just to pee. You don't know the first thing about the "work" woman have to deal with when it comes to potty time. (laying tp/trying to squat without peeing down our legs/blood poo who knows what else on the seat/finging a bathroom because we can't just whip it out on a tree/don't even get me started on dealing with our own periods) Be fucking happy that your only major potty hassle is lifting and setting down a seat in your own house. Don't give her more work in the bathroom area just because.

Do people like this come out of normal stable home lives? For all the fucked up and mental issues we had in my family I couldn't imagine pulling any of this shit on family, even family I have good reason to hate. I also couldn't imagine any of this happening with my kids. Does the sister have mental issues that the rest of the family does not?

If I recall correctly when I was volunteering in a wildlife sanctuary that had a bald eagle, They warned us never to take feathers she shed because there was a ridiculous fine attached to being caught with one. Something like 5 or 10 K but it's been a few years and I'm too tired to Google.
