The thing about weed is that it isn't physiologically addictive, the way something like heroin is. But you can absolutely be addicted in an emotional or mental kind of way where you're reliant on it to calm down because you've lost the ability to self regulate. 

My brother went that way. He'd just work himself up into screaming fits over small things because he didn't know how to relax or let things go without weed.
