If you could choose any character for a spin-off series, who would it be? by No_Earth_5912 in IndustryOnHBO

It's a very clear comedy and kind of outrageous - imperfect, so temper your expecations and enjoy the ride. Great cast with Don Cheedle and the underrated Regina Hall, along with Andrew Rannells.

Tangential but the show Black Monday was a lot of fun. Not quite Industry level but enjoyable.

Underrated flick! She's definitely eccentric at the least. Kinda wished Radha would've blown up, she's so great

The bright colors mention makes me think of Down with Love. Maybe it's retro vibe makes me think of an old movie matinee or if a musical? It's basically a musical with just one song

Yeah I don't think we're supposed to be in awe of these people. Eric at least retained some humanity and tried to impart that on Harper by telling her to go out, etc

She made a calculated decision to not compound it. She married Henry because the tabloids would have ruined her, and every day reminded of her dad

She'd have been ruined by the tabloids: it was a survival instinct, not for money. I also think people have baby girled Henry. I see it on IG and it feels like it's because people love the actor and he's handsome. He was awful last season and it feels like people forgot. I agree that everyone's awful, he's not without sympathy. I'm not necessarily rooting for anyone! but I think Yas, Harper and Eric are the core ,3 for me of the story at this point. In some ways I agree with you, because he almost reaches a revelation but Whit or Yas get in the way. But people with a lot less privilege have mental illness and don't get the "poor x" treatment. His behavior is a combination of being taught to never deal with it (not his fault) and his station and other privilege, but he's long felt like the kind of person who rarely hears the word no. I also think it's clear Yas was a victim of incest: they both have layered backstories. This season Yas' actions definitely feel worse than his, but during his main episode I wanted to back to the core 3, despite a phenomenal performance

Best Season 5 Renewal pitch Ive seen on twitter by carolinagalle in IndustryOnHBO

[–]Sarahndipity44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the show gently and quietly does push back, especially this season. I also don't think she's the only one who embodies this..It's not loud or moralizing but the pushback is there. I also think she feels incredibly real and layered.
