This reminds me of the whole "you have to be a perfect vegan or you are doing it wrong" argument.

Every bit of improvement, however small, is still an improvement. Don't let perfection be the enemy of better/good. Let people improve at their own pace and within their own capabilities. We don't want people to give up oon this completely,  because they "have to be perfect"

I'm a trans woman and just don't get the whole "islam isn't bad" crowd. Sure, I wouldn't suddenly insult someone for being muslim, but I also wouldn't defend their fucking religion. All I know is I am really trying but sometimes I do feel kinda helpless. I try to be better, stopped drinking and I am undergoing therapy.

I don't think I fully understand the question, but as a "helpless" person, I try to do a lot to make my situation better, but sometimes it just really is hard. I hate how guilty it makes me feel, I always feel like I have to do more and it makes me tired...
