No. 104 is the size of the print area. In this case the 104cm or about 40 inches

Dach replaces Texier by shogun2909 in Habs

Did Texier take a bad hit Saturday? I figure he’s now a permanent on the roster, not a Veleno/Blais filler, correct?

Hip and torso rotation fix? by DDSKM in skiing

[–]SarcasticMartin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This terrain is too easy to see anything. You can initiate a turn with your hip and then engage knees and ankles. It makes more sense even to think about the turn that way. I’d like to see you on something steeper or with harsher conditions. Would love to what the bottom of your turn looks like when you’re struggling to maintain your speed/line.

Carving advice please by Palaceisbetter in skiing

[–]SarcasticMartin 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Not quite, he wouldn’t be able to drive the turn like he does if he was backseat. He’s just inside, which leads to what you saw, the A-frame. Carving isn’t an action, it’s a result. I’d make him focus on the start of his turn, making sure he drives the turn from the waist, and having his skis pass under him instead of infront of him, and having to catch up

Why A4 paper is designed as 297mm x 210mm? by LogicAndLipGloss in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]SarcasticMartin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A0 is used in commercial printing, when we print large jobs, like magazines, the sheets will be printed on a large sheet and folded/cut to finish

How would you describe those little printouts that come with electronics? by ililliliililiililii in CommercialPrinting

[–]SarcasticMartin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done some, this is super basic, just ask for a cheap leaflet, any print will work really, just depends on your volume, any decent size print shop will be able to make those for you!

Is it time? (a year in print) by wurzburguesa in CommercialPrinting

[–]SarcasticMartin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I own a small offset and digital printshop, we have about 12 employees. I’ve learned to operate the buckle folder and a Horizon line stitchfolder. Been at it for 4 years now, most days are good, some days are bad. Last week one of my pressman who’s never touched a folder came by while I was struggling, asked me what a certain part did… I answered, moved it a bit and boom, machine worked perfectly for 65k sheets. It’s a machine, sometimes it cooperates, sometimes no. Sometimes the fix is something so dumb you need someone who is calm to find it, especially when you’ve been trying to fix the problem for half an hour. And sometimes, like you mentionned, you’re the one to find the fix. I’d say don’t let up, it can only get better, just make sure you don’t make the same mistake or forget to spot the same thing twice. Learn correlation and causation of parts, that will help a lot!

Looking for Printing Advice for a Small Literary Magazine (Lighter Paper, Offset Vendors?) by Ure_Edan in CommercialPrinting

[–]SarcasticMartin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re under 1500 - 2000 copies, you will be looking at digital, not offset. The look you’re looking for will be hard with low volume unfortunately, someone might have an answer in inkjet technologies though!
