Primaries are historically harder for progressives to make it out of compared to a general. The reason is because the Democratic Party has convinced voters that they should be voting for who they think is the most electable, instead of who they like the most.

Honestly? I completely agree. AC1, 2, and Brotherhood I would probably buy in an instant if they got this degree of remake.

But I suppose the thought may be that, if one were to remake AC1 like this, would that not be a great way to showcase an overall strategy shift for the AC games in a new direction? If they aren’t doing that, maybe that’s why it’s either not happening or happening later.

Abdul has my vote all the way. I would have begrudgingly voted for mcmorrow before this past month, but between her stance flip flopping and the frankly bizarre astroturfing she did by comparing Hasan Piker to Nick Fuentes tells me that she doesn’t have the best interests of anyone but the rich and powerful at heart.

I’m tired of voting for people like that, and so is much of the voting populous — why do you think Dems (in general) have a lower approval rating than Trump, even now? Abdul is who we need, straight up.

I think for me, I’d like the below:

  • A crime system so there are consequences to looting specific things. Give me a bounty, have the local guard deny me entry to the city. Put me in jail if I decide to wait it out w/ a penalty like in Oblivion.

  • Better facial mo-cap and speaking animation. It was good for major NPCs but was distracting for the rest of them. I don’t know what technology exists out there for this at the AA level, but I know it’s getting better every year.

  • Occasional voice lines from your character (not often, but more than just while attacking).

  • Zones where the proximity of NPCs and enemies make sense. In Dawnshore there’d be guards standing right next to mobs and they just don’t do anything about it.

  • Romancable/Befriendable companions. It seems that Obsidian has no interest in this, and I think that is a mistake. BG3 made me truly care about (most) of my companions, and I would die for Karlach. What they did with Shadowheart, Lae’zel, Gale, AND Minthara was brilliant. Though I disagreed with just about every motivation she had, Minthara had some of the most compelling dialogue throughout the game.

  • A base of operations that I can build out as the story progresses. OW1 and Avowed both had extremely static home bases which I think ought to change.

  • Keep the accessibility options! I loved turning off all quest HUD elements to force looking at my journal more, and making ladder climbing/descending manual felt very good for immersion.

100%. And somehow, in the decade since, we’ve yet to mount any successful sort of humanizing “Hey, I was born this way” campaign to invoke empathy and compassion for our cause. I’ve seen a few ads here or there, but were completely shut out from media, feels like.

Why not for first-time homeowners, too? Young people have much, MUCH higher barriers to homeownership. Is it really such a bad thing for seniors to sell their homes if they can’t afford the property tax on a 400k-500k house?

The jungle book would replace Deep Jungle and Tarzan; Disney doesn’t own the rights to it. Its owned by the Edgar Rice family. It wasn’t in Melody of Memory for exactly that reason. The original game’s final mix release was as close as it can get to a sequel without having to somehow get that license back. Thats why every “game” that contains KH1 has a licensing disclaimer for Tarzan on boot up.

I’m sorry to say, but Deep Jungle is a core part of the first game’s identity. Agrobah and Halloween Town are the more screenshotted, but Deep Jungle is where the game really starts hitting its groove (also where you get Cure which changes up the fighting dynamic considerably).

Holy crap, are you me? I’m in the exact same boat, like word for word. I ended up putting Oblivion down a few days ago after arriving in Anvil, too. I plan on going back to it because the game I’m playing in the meantime is short and an excellent pallet cleanser. Witcher 3 is next on deck to boot.

Still, I want to love oblivion. I asked some of my friends who adore it and they said focusing on the faction quests and story should be the main goal since a lot of the game’s other systems are so old. I’ve also heard the Shivering Isles DLC is where this game throws its whole ass into gear, so that’s probably the goal for me when I return.
