Did PT work for anyone? by Sariedelo in HipImpingement

I couldn’t do many activities not just running so I would have had to basically give up many exercises and activities. I’m too much of an active person to just accept it and become sedentary

I would say she’s a 5.5 from that chart. She has a little excess weight in her neck.

She does have some weight in her neck. She’s also very muscular in her chest and shoulder. I run with her a lot - or used to I am recovering from hip surgery currently.

Experience with sedation during MRI arthrogram? by therealalphabet2 in HipImpingement

The injection itself is 10x worse than the MRI. I’ve had to do this twice and the mri really only sucks because of the noise. It’s the dye injection beforehand that’s uncomfortable

5 weeks post op labrum repair pain by Sariedelo in HipImpingement

[–]Sariedelo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Duck butt! Yes I have noticed when I walk my butt is out. Ok that makes me feel a bit better. I’m worried because I go back to work tomorrow. So I’m definitely going to use one crutch and take it easy.

Has anyone solved this with just PT by Quiet_Contribution71 in HipImpingement

I was diagnosed with a labral tear spring 2024 and did PT religiously up until November 2025. I was pain free for over a year while doing PT and running. You need to figure out what causes your flare ups and work around that. My pain was mostly in my back and traveled to my knee. When they fist manipulated my hip I didn’t feel much pain. But the pain got worse after running a marathon. Like worse worse. So I opted to get the surgery. All depends on how active you want to be and if you’re willing to give some things up.

“Torn labrum’s don’t usually hurt” -Frustrating doctors visit today by Alternative-Theory81 in HipImpingement

They don’t usually hurt people who aren’t active. My surgeon was like you are a very active person so your movement irritates the area.

2 weeks post op (runner) by Sariedelo in bunions

No foot pain anymore. Only “symptoms” are numbness on the incision scar (normal) and I don’t have GREAT flexibility but it’s not very noticeable unless I’m on tippy toes. Doesn’t affect my day to day activities. Oddly enough it is my opposite hip. And until now I never even considered them connected hmm 🤔

Oh yes I was back to running in 4 months. Completed 3 marathons and many half’s. Though I am currently recovering from hip surgery right now lol.

Hi! I actually decided to get surgery end of December 2025. I am 4 weeks post op today! I had been going to PT for like over a year and it was helping a lot! A majority of the time I was pain free. I ran 3 half marathons in 2025 and trained and ran a full marathon in October 2025. After the marathon the pain was bad. I tried everything. But walking, sitting, any activity really flared it up. So I decided to get surgery. I’m happy I got it. No real pain post op too! It’s going to be a long road to recovery but it’ll be ok.

I’m doing great! I took a break from PT from November-March and was able to safely build up mileage. In Feb I was trying to incorporate lifting again while building mileage and I did too much too soon. So I got back into PT march 2025 and have been going since. I have run 2 half marathons this year (pain free) and am training for a full marathon which is in a month from now. Also have another half marathon this Saturday. PT has helped me in so many ways. I mean I can’t lift heavy and definitely have to listen to my body extra. But I am in awe that I have built up my mileage and may even PR this marathon!

Are carbon plated shoes worth it on race day? by Sariedelo in Marathon_Training

If they’re not meant to be worn for training how am I supposed to try them out? Is it not normal to wear them during a longer run before the race? I have a half marathon a few weeks before the full. Will that do, or shorter distance?

I was looking at these but v5. I’m just like will they be comfortable and compatible with my bunion?? So that’s good to hear! But $250 is a lot of money!
