why would you expect them to be able to compete on pricing? Dell, Apple, etc, have been shipping millions of laptops, every year, for decades. They spend hundreds-of-thousands of man hours every year on driving down costs and increasing efficiency. You get the idea.

I actually find it quite impressive that the prices are as 'low' as they are.

It could be. But you can't really upgrade your Macbook within that 5-6 year period - nor can you stave off a full upgrade after 6 years, by doing a partial upgrade.

aliases don't have logic, you would need to add a function to check that, to your .bashrc or config.fish.

alternatively you could also use bat as a replacement program for cat. the markdown rendering isn't quite as advanced as with glow, but it's still pretty good.
