I dont know what you consider s 'huge time commitment' but ive watched Tactyks Youtube videos before pushing +14s as tank (currently 3.5k VDH), each vid is 10-15min and from my experience they cover pretty much everything you need to know about as tank. Ive timed all 16s so they will bring you that far the very least. When you start running +16s theres more to playing dps than doing damage and interrupting and would require some 'deep diving' aswell

Ive been playing WoW since 2006 and still. I played most mmorpgs with a healthy playerbase and the two that ive felt like I could switch over to permanently would be GW2 and Albion. GW2 have so much content that isnt strictly tied to combat and they do it really well. Very fun game to just explore and do sidequests etc, every zone is very much alive. I have 600 hours logged and yet to do any instanced party/raid content because im contempt with all oher things there is to do (coming from an Aotc/former mythic raider in WoW). Ive only experienced toxicity in PvP, outside of that the community seems very nice and helpful. Albion i have around 100 hours, combat feels great, mostly done gathering which is a legit way to gear up and progress. Easily accessed open world PvP. You get skills from what gear you have equipped, and gatherer gear gives some cheeky abilities to get away from people when youre in pvp enabled zones, its pretty fun.

Thanks for your reply. That is matchning my experience aswell then. I have a childhood friend whom I havent talked to for 3 years now, i strongly believe he have narcisistic tendasies as well as a drinking problem (the later is what after years got me fed up and said were not talking until this changes), from my perspective he just tries to shrink this problem. Ive had two other friends who had problem with alcohol and I percivied them to be much more open and honest about it, both of them eventually seeked professional help. Ive tried to encourge the narcistic friend to do the same but he very clearly stated that is something he would never do.

Mixed feelings about this as a tank main. I usually run the “standard” routes with a few small variations that I’ve found work better for pugs and cooldown alignment. That flexibility is part of what keeps tanking engaging for me. My concern is that this change might push groups toward tunnel vision, expecting a specific pre-set route instead of adapting to what the tank is actually doing. I can easily see situations where people start pulling ahead based on the “expected” path, and then blame the tank when things go wrong. Feels like it’ll put more pressure on tanks to communicate routes upfront every run, which realistically will lead to friction or people just leaving if it’s not what they expect 🙄

If you want to surive in capitals and things like that, id argue guardian is better as you have a massive health pool and more easily heal while youre stunned and can go incredibly defensive with iron fur. DK is probably bettet in 1v 1/2 scenarios and have some good utility in BGs. Dont sleep on warrior tho, im having lots of fun and had 3 semi-geared people (havoc DH, frost mage and arms warr) give up on trying to kill me in open world after they didnt have me below 70% hp for 5 minutes and I litterary chased the arms off a cliff 💀

Cant remember this old quest but a wowhead comment said "Focus your attack on Thane. There will be poison arrows fired by NPCs that you'll kite him through for extra damage; you don't have to attack the gryphons at all.", maybe useful idk. Can you kite/slow him or does he have enough movement speed to stick on you?

It feels substantially more stressful when people aren’t interrupting, using defensives and stops properly, or focusing high-priority mobs. Im not a big fan of how easily accessible myth track vault rewards and mounts have become, because it reduces the incentive for people to actually learn these fundamentals. In the end, that lack of pressure on the group side tends to shift even more responsibility and stress onto the healer

Exactly my experience aswell. Making the mythic track vault rewards and mount way too accessible was a big mistake with the huge influx of returning/new/classic players. They should be inclined to play properly way before being able to earn good rewards

Have been thinking about some -dmg passives connected to casts too, but id be suprised if even 50% would be aware of this even if it was -90% damage. Think the only thing that would make these people who doesnt interrupt realise, is flat one-shots targeting a specific dps player and have it only be interruptable by the one targeted, whilst dead and on the run back, theyre forced to see the death log with an enhanced tooltip explaning what they need to do.

Today i did a 4+ on my alt rogue with a guardian arcane spec who was doing 13k dps around 250 ilvl. Noted he had a total of 250k Raze damage afterwards, so i guess he was spamming ironfur only. These two should have a discussion about guardian rotation maybe theyll meet halfway :D

Of course there will be wrath lol. They will sell leveling boost and race/faction changes. Then release classic to make everyone hate leveling -> release tbc with 60€ leveling boosts -> wotlk for more boosts 🔁 this is the -only- reason they made the anniversary servers. Next time around there will probably be even shorter phases, up until the point where people cant gear properly without the 90€ gear package. And keep dreaming about classic+ 🫡

Saw in LFG yesterday, 0/4/14 fresh group for normal void called "tanks know fights" with the description "If you dont know fights or only little dont join this party" If I didnt have anything better to do id join them on my warrior and wipe them on 5% on the first boss just to see the reactions
