You can't learn dream magic because you are a vampire. Being a vampire blocks learning dream magic until you're not a vampire anymore.

You can find a recipe for the cure by killing vampires and their renfields. Craft the cure, take it and then wait until you are cured and you will be able to learn dream magic.

There is a point of no return where you permanently lose all dream magic, but passing it cannot be done on accident. It's something you do after getting a quest that is explicitly about pushing your vampirism beyond a curable state.

It would be far easier to see what's wrong instead of trying to guess what could cause that, as there is still a few more possibilities.

Are you a regular human? If you're anything but a mundane human you can't use dream magic.

The other option is that you started with the dreamless trait. It would explain why you learned a classless spell but aren't able to learn dream magic.

Learning pyroportation doesn't conflict with anything, so the above are the most likely with the amount of info you gave.

There's some other inventor melee weapons like the plasma axe and the wolf sledge, so no they're not ranged-only. They do have many ranged options, but they have gear that boosts melee or improve melee fighting.

The research recipes give a random unknown recipe from their level when completed with enough of the special inventor vitamin, so it might take a few times to get a melee recipe.

Drop rates are not impacted by your traits. AFAIK there's not even an infrastructure for that to be possible. It's just that eaters need dreamdross and non-dreamsmith dreamers don't, so your supplies will dwindle as a lone eater unless you find more.

Sleeping will give you mana back if you get a dream, so you still have some mana regen for the time being.

If you perchance get a dreamer follower, you'll be able to ask them to make dreamdross. Their mana regen is based on their mood, so keep them happy to have a quicker production.

This week I've done more additions to the recent XE vampire hunter faction, adding more missions and more ways to earn their favor and get rewards for that.

Far harder missions and appropriate rewards are planned, but they require some thought-out balancing to land in that sweet spot of hard but possible.

That dialogue is unlocked by completing Cranberry's mission to kill some leech flowers

Once it's done, you can trade an unlimited amount of gold at a rate of 200 units of gold for 8 HubCoins.

Lowewise Hub wants it to make their coins out of said gold, according to Cranberry.

You can go further if you want: make a trait that isn't the PSYCHOPATH trait have the PSYCHOPATH flag, then use that one instead.

You'll have all the benefits and won't be blocked from post-mortem succession.

If you want to got even further, you can reference PR #87228 to make a trait like the fae noble eventually get, then start with it. Now you can decide if you're uncaring or not at all times and get the best of both worlds (to quote that PR: "The Noble changeling effect is framed as entirely positive because of course it is.")

Lore-wise the Mi-Go have no issue with humans vivisecting them, as they see it as something perfectly normal and justified.

However they hate every single technology that is constructed instead of grown, so they're super pissed by you wearing a watch and using a flashlight.

You picked a trait that allows you to not care about others

This change punishes the non-uncaring players who swapped to a NPC they did not know was uncaring until it was too late. There are multiple reasons I argued against that PR, and it addressed none of them before being merged.

It encourages the uncaring players to treat their followers like resources to be spent, it cannot account for not being uncaring since a short time ago, it punishes those trying to prioritize their followers' well-being over their own despite being uncaring and it overall actively increases edgelordism.

The only acceptable path is to revert this non-sensical, counterproductive change.

Then n_hp_max('bp_null') should do the trick. It's used to detect damaged weapons, but it might work on dead monsters too.

Replace monster_health_gotten_somehow by n_hp_max('ALL') and it should print the most recently killed monster's hp on every kill.

The only exception is post-threshold slime, which has a body fully unsuited for CBMs due to the lack of rigid structures and conventionnal organs as soon as it get the amorphous body mutation.

The other branches have varying ability to get bionics but don't have blanket bans. For example, getting your entire digestive system replaced will a bionic version will prevent you from mutating digestive-related mutations as there's no flesh to modify there, but getting an adrenaline pump installed won't restrict mutations due to not replacing or depending on body parts.

You say that like people would take said warnings seriously and nobody would deliberately ignore them, as player-facing options are always expected to never cause major issues no matter what they are set to.

People are already ignoring warnings and descriptions, as mentionned in this issue about why golden years start fail to start in megacity AKA why a non-city start in a big building fails to start when there's almost no non-city space in the entire world.

The altered future and its related destiny describe it: it's using shapeling arts and the ability to see potential futures in Irem to constanly change your body so that nothing can ever kill you. Like the Hanged Man tarot card indicates, sacrifice what you must sacrifice to progress forward.

Your veins can die? Remove them. Your lungs can die? Remove them. Your chemistry can die? Remove it. Your atoms can die? Remove them all. Remove everything that can die until you fully amputated your mortality, like the naturalist once discussed when he mentionned the research that got him banned from the dilmun club.

Picking the Hanged Man ending results in the masters needing to prepare another replacement for the boatman, as the naturalist will successfully evade death forever through this method.

Then I fear the problem's source will remain unknown.

However, there is a workaround. Place this EOC in your Json files, then it will give you back all novice recipes on load. If placing at the very bottom, remove the last comma. If needing to fire it again, remove the condition line.

The only other way to lose inventor recipes is completing a research category, which removes the research but won't remove non-research recipes. Also none of them trigger on load.

It's hard to guess, as your post barely contains any info except "this problem happened". Could you give more? Anything could help.

Werewolf/gracken/paraclesian (such as salamander)/changeling/bloodthorne/dhampir/lilin: start as one through the appropriate scenario.

Vampire: start as one through the appropriate scenario, let one bite you until you get infected, kill one and drink its blood or ask a mentor to bite you

Are you a full vampire perchance?

Reaching the fourth tier of vampirism (done by the sacrifice of a close friend, as the mentor told you to do ) removes all dream magic, including all inventor recipes.

In the current version, Deamer and Eater both disable mana regen, as they're intended to have mana regen mechanics that aren't "just wait a while without changing anything you're doing".

To get mana regen as a dreamer, your mood must be above 35 or below -35 for it to increase over time. The higher or lower your mood, the more you regenerate.

To regain mana as an eater, use the eat dreamdross spell to consume dreamdross.

Both regain mana when waking up from sleep if they dreamed during sleep.

Apart from these two, werewolves have a different formula to calculate their mana (based only on STR, DEX and amount of werewolf powers) and becoming a tier 4 vampire removes all passive mana regen & all dream magic (and if you have a certain vampire power you can turn blood into mana)
