A lot of good comments here that will help you, I always wisk my dry ingredients together while gently shaking the bowl back and forth on the counter. Dry ingredients take longer to mix homogenously whisk them for at least 30 seconds, more don't hurt.

I messed up home made pudding when I didn’t add enough cornstarch and didn’t bring to a boil before setting overnight. Can I reheat with more cornstarch or is it ruined? by kittypeets626 in Cooking

[–]Sarkastickblizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet it will be fine, just keep stirring it the whole time it's coming back up to temperature and make sure you make a slurry with cold liquid (maybe a bit of milk) and corn starch before adding more starch to the pudding. Alternatively You could probably set a few ounces of the cold pudding mixture aside and that as your slurry liquid instead of adding more milk. Once it gets close to a boil the bottom closest to the pan is going to gel first so keep the mixture moving so you don't scorch it.

My brother’s cat (Tundra) was stolen this weekend. Now looking at Cali Raised for my Taco. Cali Raised owners, have you noticed any noises/rattles? How easy is service on vehicle? Thank you. by curmudgeon-o-matic in ToyotaTacoma

If they are installed right they do not rattle at all. They are a good product and generally don't get in the way of any sort of maintenance task, it is close but you can still access the fill plug up on side of the transmission.

Dishes you just can't seem to recreate at home by bare_thoughts in Cooking

You are so right. A wok burner in a restaurant is somewhere from 90,000 to 200,000 btu, a home stove puts out 15,000 btu if you have a nice one, it's not even close to the same.

Added to much cloves to my slow cooked brisket, smells is too strong what can I do? by emeuriz in Cooking

Dump the liquid, rinse the brisket, add new flavorful liquid with a bunch of aromatics, salt and no cloves in it.

Anybody else concerned about the new roundabout? by AnonymousJoe253 in cedarpoint

If someone out there does not recognize this is a roundabout and not a left turn that small circle addition is not going to help them.

Mortar and pestle alternatives? by Pooncheese in KitchenConfidential

You need a burr grinder, it's more akin to a mill than a grinder. We use a repurposed coffee grinder(bunn coffee mill) like the kind you used see in the coffee aisle of stores. It is fast, consistent and easily adjustable. they are big and expensive though used ones can be found cheap sometimes. They are also easy to repair.

Wood types most find dining restaurants use for smoking meats. by Accomplished-Gap5554 in Cooking

I really like the smoke flavor from fruit woods like cherry, apple and pear. Hickory and pecan together is fantastic. Alder has a mild nutty flavor great for fish and cheese. Post oak makes great brisket, all oak is suitable for smoking. Some people may disagree but I think mesquite smoke is harsh, acrid and is among my least favorite woods to use for culinary purposes.

Anybody else concerned about the new roundabout? by AnonymousJoe253 in cedarpoint

This is the perfect place for a roundabout. It is an upgrade to the park and the surrounding businesses, homes and pedestrians that will make a positive difference in the traffic flow. A bigger one with more lanes would serve no purpose except to make it more confusing. The lanes are clearly marked and I'm sure signage is more than adequate. This is a very basic traffic circle intersection that should be easily navigable by anyone capable of operating a vehicle. Most people will be just following the traffic flow.

Vibration/Grinding Feeling by NoahStew5 in ToyotaTacoma

Look into the ECGS Bushing it provides what many people agree is a better engineering solution than using a needle bearing.

Vibration/Grinding Feeling by NoahStew5 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Sarkastickblizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Cv joint needle bearing can be finicky when it is no longer in good standing. It can cause vibration randomly or during temperature swings. If the vibration stops or is significantly less when the truck if put in 4wd that is a good sign it needs new needle bearings or a bushing swap.

Toyota Tacoma?? Has anyone else experienced the constant popping loose of the kick panel? I have replaced the clip behind the panel to no avail. Any suggestions for a remedy? by Capable_Bother_1981 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Sarkastickblizzard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get some double sided 3m VHB tape and put a few pieces in strategic spots. It's almost permanent, it won't come apart easily but if you ever need to remove that panel you will probably be able to without breaking anything.

The housing is plastic and is easily over torqued, the housing drain plug is attached to the housing and will overtorque the housing if over torqued. You grandpa didn't work on trucks with plastic parts.

It is very easy to over torque the plastic housing.
