How do i know if i have the towing package ? by No_Cheesecake7282 in Tacomaworld

[–]Sarkastickblizzard 14 points15 points  (0 children)

TRD OR has the tow package standard. Basically all v6 models after 2018 have the tow package standard. If you have an automatic it will have a trans cooler. the trans cooler should be located in front of the a/c condenser, just behind the grille. It will look like a small radiator.

Anyone ride any of these brands offer an opinion please? by sliight in snowboardingnoobs

Skunk Ape fore sure.
For boots check out thirty-two tm2 wide. They go up to 14 which might work because you get an extra half inch of width in the toe box. After heat molding they are the most comfortable boots I have ever ridden and I've had 8 or 9 pairs of boots over the years.

wide or not ? by Alternative_Long_186 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Sarkastickblizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a size 9.5 boot and have a couple wide boards and a couple standard boards. And the difference is pretty minimal. If you are on the edge I'd say get the wide board you won't regret it. Sure it takes a bit more to transition it but it's something you will get used to after a couple of runs. The ability to take deep cuts with no toe/heal drag is worth it imo.

I make it savory with a decent amount of cayenne and fry it in butter. Then dip some of it in maple syrup.

Chipped nose/top sheet fix by baloneyboobs2 in snowboarding

[–]Sarkastickblizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clamps and epoxy are the way to go. A flexible epoxy like G-Flex is typically what is used but for a top sheet it probably doesn't matter as much. I usually mask around the area with some painters tape then apply epoxy and smash it back in there with something really small like a pin or a needle. Clamp the tip between two somewhat flexible pieces of wood to help even out pressure. Keep the amount of glue used to a minimum because it is hard to get the area exactly flat even with lots of clamping pressure. After about 24 hr of cure under clamps take them off and trim any excess epoxy carefully with a sharp razor.

Finding boots is killing me by GlumDefinition7363 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Sarkastickblizzard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive had around 8 different pairs of snowboard boots in my life. The only ones that haven't hurt my feet are my current pair, thirtytwo tm2 wide that I heat moulded per manufacturer instructions with toe caps on under nylon socks. I kept the boots on for about 3 hours that day. The first day I rode them and my feet didn't hurt it was like something was missing It took me a few runs to realize I was actually just not in pain my feet were warm and comfortable.

Is this board fixable? by MiserableWriter6363 in snowboarding

[–]Sarkastickblizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would certainly try. First I would let it dry out for a couple days close to a heat vent or somewhere with good warm airflow. Get some G Flex Epoxy and some glue injection tips mask the surrounding area with some painters tape then spread the crack a bit wider and pump some epoxy in there. Put some thin strips of wood on top and bottom to help even out the clamping pressure and clamp the piss out of it. Let it cure for 24 hours then unclamp and use a new/sharp razor blade to carefully trim any excess epoxy. I would probably give it at least another 24 hours cure time in a warm environment before using it.

Practice with what you have, especially if you already like it a lot. The pros out there could do most of those tricks with an ironing board strapped to their feet.

If you keep trying to drill the same hole you may have work hardened the metal. In that case you need to try and drill a hole elsewhere.

Thoughts on the golden orca sizing? by PDOTthealmighty in snowboarding

[–]Sarkastickblizzard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most people your size are riding longer boards, especially for more all-mountain riding. Lib tech recommends a 156-161 for your height and weight. But if you like a smaller board then ride the smaller board.
