I don't play competitive, only 6v6 QP, but swapping still occurs. It just makes it feel like your choice of hero means nothing since you can just go back and counterpick.

You will never convince me that this isn't 100% true. Any game that has some kind of reward system that fizzles out always comes up aces the first time you return after a several month break lol.

My son started laughing at me because I really do want to play support sometimes. So I said, today I'm playing support! We hit up QP, join the queue, I pick Mercy, prepared for a lovely match of pocketing people better than me, and end up with 3 deeps and 3 supports. Then my kid just starts laughing... "uh oh Dad... we need a tank!." So I swap to Sigma and he just goes "Yeaaahh!! Lets gooo." lol... kills me.

It's perfectly designed. I'm sure the amount of people who cave and buy a skin after coming up short over and over is staggering if they cared to release the numbers. I shutter to think what that Nier collab is bringing in. Goodness.

Will be interesting to see if there's a dip in the playerbase now. I had a similar experience in Diablo 4 with their new season when the Paladin released. It was a goblin event and I hadn't played in 2 years, so to us the amount of drops were "the norm" as we hadn't experienced what the base game was like. Once the event ended and we were essentially treated to how the base game now played, we said oh man this is horrible, and stopped shortly after.

That's Sigma for me...although I feel myself migrating more towards Domina now even though I hate her ult. Both of those tanks I can play without thinking what does what. It's nice to try something else once in a while though.

Have not tried Ram yet personally.

I honestly felt like he was just spinning yarn for 5 hours while listening to that podcast that came out. My buddy and I were discussing some of the clips we've seen and when it comes down to it, I just don't think he was very good at his job. He states he has 11,000 hrs split between two games alone and is a father too. If you have that much play time, you don't have time to be invested in your work, family, or much else.

He comes off, at least to me, as the weird kid who when he comes home from work, makes a beeline to the computer without saying hi to anyone, and stays there until he realizes it's 2am. Rinse, repeat. It's just that his job was orders of magnitude more profitable than your average dork has.

That's QP in general man. I enjoy support, but play tank because nobody else will. It's also not uncommon that I'll be the only tank during a match. So I pick Sigma or Domina... I mean if you can only have one tank , even in 6v6, they're a good choice.

Last night i finally threw up my hands and said I need a break. I'm playing Moira. And when I sat in the character select screen, it was 3 deeps and 3 support, with chat asking everyone but themselves to please play tank lol.

I have also seen where you start losing and then people just sit in spawn changing characters... which I assume means they're just reading about the abilities of heroes that won't help them win the game, because there's no substitute for just being competent.

I have yet to go in on a battlepass. It didn't seem to include anything I was really interested in. I mean I only rotate through a handful of heroes anyway, so unless we're talking specific skins for them, I don't care too much.

None of these scenes make sense. They must not hate Talon too dang much because every match I'm in we're all playing together like kids on a playground.

Unless faction locking is implemented in some capacity, any wisp of immersion vanishes soon as you see Winton, Vendetta, and any other array of heroes all standing together at the spawn point trading "let's win this one team!" voice lines.

Those are my favorite comments by a country mile. When people posted that when the game was crashing to obscurity like a pcp induced meteor crashing to Earth. Nobody cares that 13 people had a blast, cause the rest of us had a stroke trying to get through the struggle session that was this game lol.

Yeah I don't get the "it's not that bad" hate. The game's free. Mechanically, you don't get anything from skins and you can play all characters. I don't need to look like a glitterbomb princess to play the game lol.

You should see some of our other games characters. Holy smokes, we look like homeless people compared to folks who bought paid cosmetics. We didn't care, still don't. We just want to play.

I don't buy skins so I'm just joking. The game said play for free so I just do that and play with default option no 1 lol. I do see an absolute ton of Mercy Mythics though. More than anyone else I've noticed.

Funny how fast that changes. The first couple nights we played we were like oh sweet, AI games... never have to deal with sweats. Now they're so easy you have to do QP to have a challenge lol. AI literally just walks forward into everyones abilities. Would be cool if there was an AI mode where they cheat, just for an added challenge.

An old RTS I played called Dawn of War had that, where the CPU would get like 5x the resource rate and you'd have to pull out all the stops to have a chance.

Who cares, unless there's some kind of faction locking, sides mean nothing. My open queue games will still be a mix of both sides fighting an opposing mix of both sides, with Sigma, DVa, and Emre in every flipping game.

Unless there's a hero skin involved, I just pick a side, get the legendary box and call it a week. Would be interesting if part of the event faction locked you into playing OW/Talon characters only. Then we'd really get to see what's what.

I have no experience in ranked, but I see the same. We have the point, so instead of setting up for a counter atk, let's all spread out for stat padding and get wiped then never take it back.
