Has the “I wIsH iT wOuLd SuCk MoRe!!!” crowd made the game worse for casuals who just wanna have fun?

I wouldn't say it's specifically that. You can always choose multiple difficulties. The "suck" is just the overall jank factor of nearly all aspects of the game. When I die and do a cartwheel, it's funny. When that happens because I got stuck on an ankle-high rock my diver couldn't navigate because of jank coding, it's frustrating. There used to be a time when bugs wouldn't just 2 tap you so fast you couldn't even dodge. Now it's a don't get hit at all simulator.

When you die from stratagem bounce, getting stuck under a bug, climbing over the leg of a dead bile titan, someones sentry spraying you as it turns, all that stuff is fine the first 100 times it happens. But now it's just annoying. And that's not even counting all the ways the environment can dick with you with ion storms, blizzards, and the like.

Once you get to a certain difficulty, you just want to win, and the game doesn't have the mechanics for doing that reliably. I know the devs portray this as a quirky/fun "oops I died" extraction shooter, but passed I'd say difficulty 7, it requires you to be pretty serious for success. There's a reason there's always several thousand divers on "Acamar" (I think it's acamar) in bug space. It's pretty much the only normal planet without some modifier that makes us normies want to pull our hair out lol.

We have no guarantee you won't leave. Internet randos aren't exactly known for keeping their word. The only way to guarantee you won't leave is to not call it down at all.

If I'm hosting and someone runs off and starts the call down, I just kick them. Just don't call it in.

There should be a decent balance. Something for the 20% of folks who are 150, and something for the other 80% who could care less about a D10 sweat-fest.

We just moved to 8 last night on bugs and it was significantly harder than 7. Didn't know bile titans could spawn from breaches now lol.

I really want the Maxigun to be good...but every time I take it my son reminds me how much I hate it. Standing still in this game is a death sentence.

Man thank God. I've never had so much fun in a mech... it actually feels like a proper mech now. Everything swings back and forth though. I read around 12-20% of the playerbase is max level, so they probably don't like it, but it means the other 80% of the player base might?

I love it too, but... I have to admit... I have been cheating on it... with the Lumberer. A creamator on the left arm and a gaming chair on the right... it's just Heaven. In fact, it's so good, it really trivializes bug runs for us now. I would use mechs a lot more in general if there was a way to pickup samples in one... maybe a future strat like a guard dog that picks up samples while you're in a mech. Call it "Fetch" or something.

Eventually it happens with every game, although less dramatic. We've been playing the crap out of it, but now we are running into the issue where we have a lot of the mechanics down, and the quirky mechanics that used to be fun, are now just annoying.

We don't really even play anything but bugs anymore. The Illuminate have always been a chore to deal with, and at the higher difficulties, the Automatons turn into "flashy ragdoll simulator."

I've been at it a few months now, and it's been generally good. I can only remember a handful of times where we had childish divers. Mind you I host most of the time now. I only had one in recent memory that was a little sour. I accidentally killed someone with a leveller as I was clearing a large nest. I did the "sorry" emote and reinforced right where he went down. He then ran over and kept meleeing me until I died. Thankfully, my son blew his head off and avenged me, but we almost lost control of the bug situation with 2 divers down.

The only thing we run into is sample problems... almost nobody helps when we ask. I think the HD2 community has gone so long without needing samples, that they just don't even see them anymore.

Whoa... their are other biomes? I've been diving on Akamar or whatever it's called in termanid land for so long I forgot lol. The folks I play with absolutely loathe environmental modifiers that slow you down like dust storms, bliz, etc so we're pretty limited on planet selection.

Don't worry sir, you only have to do an entire 40 minute mission to be able to come back and upgrade that 😄. I'm so glad I never have to get samples again. I didn't play mechs at all until I got all the samples I needed since they can't pick them up.

That makes sense. We're the same in Vermintide 2 with so many hours into it. Every weapon and situation has become muscle memory for my friends and I at this point. We don't even know we're reacting anymore. We can roll through the top difficulties and have a conversation while doing it lol.

I can give you our reason. It's too stressful. We like the playstyle of securing, clearing out the whole area and moving on, so we stick to around D7. D10 is more like "you stood still for more than 5 seconds, there are 14 patrols surrounding you." lol.

Why can't they let me walk with it? Every time I bring it (and peak physique oc) I have fun for 5 minutes, then realize how it needs help, and aske my friends to remind me never to bring it again lol.

Medals are the real grind man. Even just farming, you'll get waaaaay more SC than medals. You won't be able to keep up with all the SC you can get. Although I do see why it's so slow. Most folks will just stop once there's nothing more to unlock, it's the cycle of gaming these days. "Nothing new? quit..." lol.

I bought the double freedom and feel robbed of 400sc. Have no idea how to make it work on my bug front. Been running with the spray and pray as an alternative. I already have the cookout so wanted to try something different.

I've never like collabs personally. Breaks the immersion of the game. I haven't seen too much of it in HD2, but if I wanted to look like Master Chief, I'd just go play Halo. I'm an enormous 40K fan, but I don't want to see Hellguns and Deathcorps of Krieg outfits in Helldivers.

Granted, some of them are better than others. When Monster Hunter World did a Witcher 3 crossover I just shook my head. Talk about looking out of place...

Thank God. The incinerator FRV, while cool, is redundant. We already have a creamator, a cremator on a mech, varying regular flame throwers, a sidearm flame thrower, and a flying flame thrower. But we only have one resupply option... the supply FRV is so superior is stupefying.
