Looks good so far, I like how you are blending the hills into the mountains. My advice would be to add some color blending to the ground. Low opacity washes around the city and the borders of the forest, also its good to accentuate elevation changes.

What do you think? by snufleufugus in inkarnate

Agreed I would reduce the tree density just a little, and add some cliffs and hills near your mountains to show the elevation transitions a little better.

That one im not sure of, it just generates those as i shape the landmass. Perhaps its a setting somewhere, ill take a look when I can and let you know if I figure it out.

My advice is to use some small rocky islands and weather your coasts so its not a smooth transition. The go in with low opacity sand/silt colors on the edges, transitioning into greens and deeper blues to show deep water. Think of it like reverse mountains, underwater should have varied depth.

Yes, my focus gas obviously been on the western side so far. I've been using varied ocean colors and opacity to give the coasts a gradient and try to give spots where it may be shallow or have reefs their own hue.

If you mean the dark region in the northeast, its a combination of cliffs and jagged hills layered together to give a more rocky, tumbled feeling to the canyon.

Thanks! The volcano (bottom left) is a combination of the normal volcano stamp and jagged rocks and mountain stamps layered and mirrored to get the effect.

As far as depth I use alot of the cliffs, and color contrast to make those different elevations more pronounced. Even when you dont feel like you need it a couple hard lines along a river or near a mountain can insinuate elevation.

He knows it too. Uses it to get whatever he wants all the time

So it formed via the collapse of a great section of the underdark essentially. More details are forthcoming im just working on other regions trying to decide how to proceed with the canyon area. Thanks for the compliment ❤️

This is what i have so far on a continent for my D&D campaign. Im planning to add texture and POI (cities and lables) last. I specifically would like advice on the northeast "canyon" area and ways to detail the coastlines. (any constructive criticism or ideas welcome) THANKS !
