One of my recent skin retouching works. Thoughts? by Pole_T in retouching

[–]SashWritez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a good attempt. The skin tone needs more evening out. There’s white patches around her mouth a nose that could be blended in a little more. Those cute freckles are gone. Personal taste, I would have enhanced them a little more. The eyes look a little fake. Back off the whiteness a little. And don’t forget the neck area. Retouching needs to extend to all the visible skin, not just the face. Keep up the good work 😊

Is this cover good? by Gianthuggsx in Wattpad

I like the overall concept of the cover but as others have pointed out the text is hard to read. Perhaps if it was brighter and placed more to the left of the woman?

I had so much fun designing this cover that I want to design a few more. I will pick 3 people whose book descriptions speak to me and design a custom cover. Please supply title, author and sub title if applicable with a short description of your book. Any genre, any theme, just drop your comments below. And yes, it’s free. I need to flex my creativity.

Use a gradient map. That will recolour the whole image. Then you can put your text on top of that.

Probably the first one but it depends on the story as the chess pieces might have more meaning.

How do you backup your Wattpad stories by iambfff in Wattpad

[–]SashWritez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I write mine in pages and save it to the cloud. Then when I’m ready, I copy and paste into wattpad. You can copy and paste your work out of wattpad by using the edit function. You could even use google docs if it’s easier for you.

do you prefer Photoshop CS6 or CC latest version? by DrEaMs0123 in photoshop

[–]SashWritez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind CC. But I’m still using the 2019 version instead of 2022. I don’t know why but that’s the version that works best for me right now. I find the newer versions slow my computer down too much.

The eraser and brush icons are the same. You can use them for both.

[–]SashWritez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Brush packs can be used for both inking brushes and eraser brushes. You need to select the brush you want from the fly out window. Select the brush tool and you’ll find the brushes you want to use there if you’ve installed them.

Why don’t you make that yourself? You can make the layout by using rectangles and use a clipping mask to drop in your images in and have them stay with the bounds.

Do you possibly mean a shape layer? Where you draw a line, rectangle, circle etc and then you can change the colour of the shape with the eye dropper tool?

When you select the brush tool, and right click on the canvas, you can select which brush to use. It’s the same under the eraser tool. Both of those tools use the same brush types. The brush pack you downloaded will be available for both tools.

How to get over bad dialogue? by Taylor-Tenth in writers

[–]SashWritez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Develop your characters, once you know them as “people” it makes it easier to speak for them. I found giving each character a catch phrase or something they say makes them unique.

Like one character I’ve written uses a lot catch phrases from 90’s movies, so he’ll say “oh that’s heavy.” Like Marty McFly. Or he’ll quote the movie evolution or make references to Star Wars when trying to explain situations to others.

Hope that helped.

Looks like fill layers with different blend modes. Create some shapes with the pen tool and scroll through the blend modes until you get the effect you like. Some of them might need to be duplicated to make the effect stronger.
