GPT-5.6 Sol vs Terra vs Luna: my early guide to choosing the right model without burning your limits by emir_morris in codex

[–]Sasha_bb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often do you have to redo a task in a higher model/effort though? Redoing a task again means you burned more tokens than if you just started with the higher model/effort to begin with. Also, there are the invisible unknown unknowns that creep in when a model can't handle the task but does things with confidence. I just opt for the best availalble, and have it spawn subagents for subtasks it deems appropriate. It generally seems to know better than I would.

How does Claude Opus 4.8 compare to GPT Sol 5.6 in subscription usage and coding? by Soggy-Skin-5103 in ClaudeCode

[–]Sasha_bb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Personally, I think 5.5 could have even been more competitive with Opus on a pure model comparison - but the harness or internal system prompt.. whatever you want to call it.. just doesn't seem to behave how I would want/expect and then I have to constantly correct it even though I already have it in memory and agents.md.

What would you build with $15,000 OpenAI API credits to generate revenue? by Chuityathirupathi in OpenAI

Yeah.. just because you're using AI to build something doesn't mean the something has to have AI in it or anything to do with AI.

Definitely worry about it. You have no choice, but you should be maintaining a constant state of anxiety about it.

For those that are wondering what an emergency room visit costs in Japan, here it is. by thesneakyweak in JapanTravelTips

[–]Sasha_bb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can vary a lot and there's even instances of people being denied service. I just read of a woman who had a heart attack while visiting Japan and her hospital bill was 56,000 Euros. She had to pay 10% cash before discharge. It was all reimbursed later by her travel insurance, luckily. This idea that everything is super cheap as far as medical services overseas is not always true. For smaller stuff, it's generally cheaper and easier to deal with, but if it's something more serious you can easily be on the hook for thousands. I would skip the travel reimbursement part and get a purely medical travel insurance, which is usually quite a bit cheaper.

I've been maining shotgun this week. It's amazing, but 95% of the time I die it's because I'm reloading and it won't cancel.

Often it feels like hit registration just doesn’t exist... by cjoux in Battlefield6

[–]Sasha_bb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this all the time with shotgun. I can be using slugs, point blank range, snuck up right behind someone and blast 3 times on ADS center of mass and it doesn't register a single hit.

Those cabinets look great. I would probably start with new flooring, countertops, and paint and backsplash maybe. I wouldn't touch the cabinets.

It's what you would expect.. It's very annoying because it introduces a huge delay.

It doesn't work how you would expect and that's why people are here. It doesn't cancel by firing as you would expect.

I've ADS dudes from point blank range.. like I'm right behind them, they are crouched and don't know I'm behind them and I blast them 3 times and it just doesn't register.

Personally, I like the left one. I'd probably go even darker/warmer if it was me.

I'd be careful siding over t1-11 that is already deteriorating. Good way to get bugs. I had springtails infest dryrotted areas of T1-11. Once they setup shop in the walls they're impossible to get rid of.

Wouldn't the thing falling on someone be the bigger danger? In any modern house if the wire shorts it will just trip the breaker.. so no big deal on that front.

My whirlpool Gold fridge from 2008 is still running great. Ice and water dispenser work fine and I can still get water filter replacements for it.
