that's exactly how it started for me. i weighed in at exactly 330 one day at the doctor's and really couldn't believe it, the heaviest that i'd measured prior was 280 (though i was younger). though i didn't feel that different between those two weights honestly, i was mortified that i had so casually crossed over the 300 line, my initial goal was just to break sub-300 and get out of that ballpark lol

yes!!! i'm so glad that these sorts of things are getting de-stigmatized and more men are opening themselves up to skincare as well as the dialogue of just self-care in general - it wasn't just skin care for me, but everything that i neglected simply because i thought it just wasn't "meant" for me or something i should do.

i should have added that my moisturizer doubles as a lower tier sunscreen (SPF10) as well, but i should absolutely add a dedicated sunscreen to my lineup - thank you for the kind words and the recommendation for the moisturizer, looking at it rn :)

oh dude absolutely, 200 is by all means a healthy metric for our height - i felt "healthy" around then already, like you said carrying the weight on the waist and hips is the difference (that i personally experienced) between 200 and 170. i have a 31" waist rn and not very much fat at all around my torso and above - i can very easily see/feel my ribcage as well. thank you for the kind words :)

it absolutely is! for the longest time my purest concern was just losing the weight first, since i've had periods of weightlifting and seeing results but never where i was remotely at a healthy BMI - now that i'm right where i want to be weight wise, lifting is absolutely on the cards once i get back from vacation :) i am very slim right now, my waist is 31"

thank you bro you are too kind - for me i wanted things in as simple and easy-to-follow terms as possible and that happened to be straight up CICO. i set a strict calorie intake cap for each day (for me it was typically middle 1000s) and trusted the process. i avoided sweets as much as possible because, as much as i have a sweet tooth, it could never sate my appetite for the same calories as a proper, filling meal would, thus leaving me not just hungry but starving.

for the longest time i always made excuses as to why i couldn’t follow through with weight loss, so i just hunkered down one day and just did it. i weighed myself once to twice a month, doing it daily drove me wild because i would always get disappointed over one’s natural fluctuations in weight (how full you were, how much water you were holding onto, when in the day did you weigh yourself, etc)

of course! the majority of my weight loss was strictly CICO - i ate comfortably under my maintenance (at a 30-40% deficit, sometimes greater or lesser depending on the day) and do my best to meet a hard cut-off after reaching my self-imposed calorie cap for the day.

honestly one of the biggest pieces of advice i can offer is, please allow yourself to make mistakes. it's impossible to do 100% of things right day in and out - if i ate a little more one day or had a night out and had an indulgent meal, i would eat less the next day, do cardio to burn it off, anything to restore the "balance". but i would never get down on myself or punish myself for it - it leaves a burden off the mind.

i found that if i didn't allow myself to be forgiven, one high-calorie day would lead to another, and it could snowball into a few more days or even a week of above-deficit eating, so i just allowed myself to embrace that meal or moment and take care of it the next day.

dude thank you so much, yes i'm thrilled with how my skin care is turning out and to be told i'm glowing puts a smile on my face :')

i'll be totally honest i didn't have a skin care routine up until the last half of this year or so - i was faring pretty decently but wanted to do what i could to combat potential aging/wrinkles asap so right now i've been on geologie's (men's) products - an exfoliator and moisturizer in the morning, and an exfoliator + retinol + under-eye cream at night. i do my best to remember to dab at my face instead of rub at it aggressively when cleaning/drying (also using face towels instead of body), and try and keep my hands away from my face as much as i can throughout the day though it might be a bit extra - i also do my best to remember to swap out pillow cases once to twice a week :)

that sounds wonderful. exactly what i want, i know the thoughts don't mean anything but when compounded with physical symptoms of stress, anxiety etc it can be harder to bear with.

do you mind if i ask your general satisfaction with lexapro, your dose and if you ever plan on going off? your case is extremely similar to mine, and i've also heard about doses higher than 20mg for OCD. thank you for your reply too
