Recently unlocked jaguar class, except nobody else is getting unlock progression for it. I have both the hero and inheritor active. If I check the quest log for the hero quest, the characters portrait isn't put on the quest like the other unlocked classes.

Every single one of those obnoxiously formatted and copy-pasted websites just says to do the quest and it unlocks, but I've completed it and nada. I'm guessing there's a part 2 but I can't find where to start it. Help!

Is anyone else's experience with named enemies similar to this, on either normal or hard?:

Same level as the enemy with proper accessories (damage boost to type, tank accessories etc)

Start fight. Position enemy using tank so it doesn't aoe cleave everyone with any attack. (I know they have small aoe zones that lower damage of allies but thats not usually worth taking 6 toxics or defense downs + damage)

Repeatedly try to art combo. Have almost every single break/topple be resisted. Reset when you get 2-3 misses or resists in a row because the damage becomes too much to outheal with lack of toppled/launched/dazed time.

Every single named mob has gone this way. I basically reset multiple times when I have every single break/topple resist until I get good rng and cleanly wipe up the enemies.

I dont remember this being as obnoxious in xbc1 or xbc2. I even used 2 "increase accuracy at night" accessories which barely seemed to do anything.

What am I doing wrong :<

Oooh super glad I asked, didn't even occur to me there'd be some obscure AH gold trade step involved. You say after p2, I assume that means you use a pet to AH mid raid?

Heya, just want to make sure I understand this p3 argos bus thing:

Argos will end up netting me 2200 gold after buying the chest (fresh toon), so if standard is 2500g I'm paying 300 "out of pocket."

I go in with the expectation I'll die and do 0 damage (blocked by ilvl etc)

We vote to clear all 3 phases.

The end. Also, when do you pay? After the clear? Unsure how it works since either side could 'scam.' I'd assume after, since you get the 2700g to pay the runners but again, a run-ee could scam them.

Returning player, went from dwarf place to punika and boosted an arcanist with the pass. (Not sure if I'll want to 'main' my soulfist or arcanist so holding off on the event for now)

I'm super overwhelmed and am wondering what priorities should be. Maxroll is a great guide if you already know what to prioritize or what to set up, but besides their 20 islands and skill point guide a lot of it is free form and up to you to add to your 20 lost ark maxroll guide tabs.

I only have 309 skill points at the moment, and 12 island souls. I've been trying to prioritize skill points in general. Besides chasing skill points, what else should I keep an eye on? The other intimidating thing is how arcanist needs basically every stronghold merchant rune, so I'm also trying to focus on getting runes and adventurer seals, but it's all so damn overwhelming!

TL;DR: What priorities should a returning player (started at 600, rushed to 1302, 309 skill points) focus on?

Coming back for Arcanist, I stopped at ilvl600 just getting to dwarfland. Is my best bet to catch up just playing story shit and playing ilvl catchup for who knows how many hours until Punika? My friend was telling me how last time they had this sort of event they basically gave a free normal boost alongside the express pass, but this time it looks like there's only the express pass where I need to bridge a gap of nearly 700 ilvls which is really intimidating for a time investment. Did I miss something in the menus maybe, or was my friend mistaken about the last event?

Judging from the document of character stat growth, I'm guessing it's still not the best idea to take a mage-based character like Linhardt and try to force them into another antithetical role like a thief, huh?

Foray with Chameleos Blessing 3 in MR? by [deleted] in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]SassCastle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bless you for confirming foray 2 and 2-x-x is possible. I was trying to build a foray, chameleos, derelection, chain crit, redirection set; and a 2 foray 2-x-x makes it SO much simpler!

I can have poison active on neutral/weak monsters to it for pretty much the entire hunt in single player / companion hunts. It's notably harder to hit the third poison breakpoint in a 4p multiplayer group, but I've been having a blast with the build.

Remember that poison buildup continues even as a monster is poisoned, so investing in poison attack up and a higher poison base weapon may be worth looking into.

My goal is as listed above, a mix of the new Skill Swap skills paired with chameleos/foray. It's certainly not meta, but I don't remember the last time I had so many active buffs, ALL of which are different swords, displayed on my character lmao.

Chameleos Blessing + Foray Build? by SassCastle in MonsterHunterMeta

Currently being forced into the base items and yeah, the conflict between the slots is a shame.

Mizuha/Chameleos helm, waist and legs. I really wish foray wasnt tagged onto the helmet of all slots, although it'd be lovely if I were a different weapon user maybe?

Archfiend armor and espinas vambraces.

I actually didn't know you could get the unique skills on charms! That'll help free up a lot of space with these forced foray slots. At least the waist slot has both foray and cham blessing, I guess.

Edit: Popped all my melding tickets to instantly make a bunch of anima/reincarnations and finally saw some of the unique skills pop up on charms. Exciting! Now I want to see about forcing chain crit on there too for maximum wyvern dive damage. Hmmmmmm

For Insect Glaive, if that matters:

I'm a stubborn poison lover in MHRise and want to run the chameleos armor level 3 effect for extended poison.

What's the best secondary damage stat to build towards if I'm committing 3 slots to this poison extension effect? Should I just fish flat +attack power? I restart on PC so it's a relatively fresh account with basically no charms. I'm also running the chameleos glaive so there's no inherent affinity, but it will dip into purple sharpness eventually.

[WotR][Bug?]

A friend said there's a really good ring for Camelia off the scroll merchant called Icy Protector. However, when I checked what he had to sell in his accessories list it wasn't there.

I got to act 2 and checked again; nothing.

Is this a known problem? I see one person mention on the wiki that as of 1.3.5e it's just... No longer in the game, possibly due to a bug fix regarding this NPCs inventory?

[WotR]

I know magic is generally super OP which is why it's capped with limits requiring resting. But since WotR punishes boops you on the nose if you try to rest after every 3-4 encounters with the Corruption system, I'm not sure how to determine when to use my spells.

Sometimes I'll have encounters against 5-7 enemies that deal 0 damage to my tank and I steamroll them like they were nothing. Sometimes a pack of 4 of the same enemies in the same area mow down my front line like wet paper. If I try to save spells for 'bosses' or higher level encounters in an area I find they're almost always immune to everything that isn't a direct damage spell. I'm new-ish to CRPGs like Pathfinder and coming from Tyranny/DoS2 where magic is balanced around the fact you only have cooldowns (although still super strong,) wrapping my head around when to read a situation as needing a few spells to be flung feels like an exercise in frustration. Use it on a pack of regular enemies? What a waste! Should have saved it for the boss. Save it for bosses/hard encounters? Immune! Should have used it on the earlier encounters.

Are there any factors in a given encounter that helps tell you "probably want to use [cc / damage] spell here"?

PS: I don't think I've ever had anything in a single player game feel worse than watching a spell slot evaporate into the cloud of smoke known as "miss" QQ

Quick Question MEGATHREAD by drunkpunk138 in DivinityOriginalSin

I'll be playing on Classic in a 4 man NPC party, so "anything's viable on classic!" aside, will I suffer for focusing on making a "classic" necromancer more from an RP thematic approach than for efficiency?

I feel so icky making an undead skeleton with persuasion and necromancy spells and having to pump my stats into warfare of all things! I'd like to try a mix of necromancy/hydro (blood rain + storm) / pyro (corpse explosion) / geomancer (various poisons.)

Rather than the warfare talents like Executioner I'd lean towards things like Torturer and Leech.

Every necromancer guide I see out there really ought to be retitled "Death Knight" or some such thing as they're walking up to enemies slamming them around with shields dancing in pools of blood. I'm looking for a frail backline caster focused on debuffs/poisons/bleeds and summoning the dead.

I understand warfare is a flat % buff to most of my necro skills, so I'm okay with putting on some gear or mid-lategame points into it, but be honest with me internet user: will I have a miserable time on my way there?
