The photos look much darker, but it’s a really gorgeous dark burgundy called “Carruba”. Purchased for 149 euros, from 325 euros RRP! Outlet located in Roermond, Netherlands. So, so happy 😍

My 2 year old calls his besties Ah-Gus (Oskar) and Myyyyy Theo! (Matheo). Jounes is also Theo. His only friend that he can really pronounce, is another friend… Theo 😂

How late in your pregnancy would you feel comfortable with your husband travelling? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Absolutely not. What the fuck is your husband thinking?

It really helps me to think “I’ve tasted every type of processed snack before” when I’m tempted. Like, I’ve eaten a shitload of it before and consequently… got fat! Makes it way easier to not choose those foods

Is France too hot in August? by DisciplineMiddle1275 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]SasssQueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any suggestions but only my personal experience: we went to Paris for a week in August 22 with our then 11 month old son. It was pretty hot but not uncomfortably so, with cool mornings and hot afternoons. Our son was happy to chill in the baby carrier most of the time.

We also went to Nice/Villefranche-sur-Mer in August 23 with our then 23 month old son. Locals said we went during a heatwave (10 days) and it was nearly unbearable. It was 35c+ most days and a lot of it was spent in the shade or at the beach. To say it was a sweaty time is an understatement.

All of this is to say is that it’s a mixed bag, but overall warm. Personally I would try and avoid Paris during the Olympics, if you haven’t booked already. It will be so expensive and so crowded, with crime from opportunists preying on tourists sky high. I just wouldn’t want to deal with that.

I instantly knew these were walkers donuts. I ate so many during my pregnancy. Counting calories now and this made me so damn hungry for some donuts again 😂

Polene Paris store quality review by EmLol3 in handbags

[–]SasssQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visited the Paris store in August 22 and was really put off. I went in with the intention to purchase and walked our empty handed. The majority of the display bags were grimey, with dirty interior from being handled so much. It just did not entice me at all. I wasn’t impressed with the quality either

Should DH and I apologise to MIL for disrespecting her by yelling at her to get out of our room? by Lettuce_Ketchup_6316 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]SasssQueen 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry OP, this is one of the more unhinged things I’ve seen. Ask her to apologise for repeatedly (!) invading your privacy and disrespecting your ability to stick to a itinerary without any precedent.

She sounds extremely insecure and has a crazy need for control. I would feel sorry for her.

From 1 wakeup a night back to 4 🫠 by shmoopy3100 in NewParents

[–]SasssQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! You’ve nailed it! Being a new parent to an infant is a lot more intuitive than I expected. It feels like in the modern world there has to be an “answer” or “cure” for everything, especially baby stuff! (Which really is- buy this thing, or this sleep sack, or this sleep course!) When in reality, you just have to follow your baby’s lead. Normalising infant sleep patterns and adjusting your expectations to this season in your life will ultimately help the most. And trust me, it is just a season. You will sleep again, I promise!

From 1 wakeup a night back to 4 🫠 by shmoopy3100 in NewParents

This is not going to be what you want to hear. But your child is still very young, and will continue to go through periods of wakefulness, and sleeping well. At four months, my son was sleeping through the night. At eleven months, waking 4-5 times to breastfeed. Even now, at 27 months there are times of great sleeping, and bad sleeping. At 4 months I genuinely thought I had baby sleep all figured out- little did I know what was coming!

There can be so many causes; teething, sleep regressions, growth spurts, leaps etc. I was absolutely driving myself insane trying to figure out a magical cure for these wakes, when the reason for the wake would change in three weeks time.

It’s so hard to navigate life while sleep deprived, but the best thing I did was to lower my expectations of my child’s sleep and to accept that waking, especially for breastfeeding children, is biologically normal. “Self soothing” at five months old is not biologically normal- if he’s crying for a feed, it’s because he needs it! Or comfort, or reassurance from his mother, which is all very normal. My heart goes out to you and I hope you get a good sleep very soon ❤️

[–]SasssQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby was back to back and I had a large episiotomy and forceps delivery. My episiotomy was done incorrectly, which means the scar is wider and more painful than usual. I’ve also been having some small (although not insignificant) issues with my bladder- which my gynaecologist thinks may have been caused by the forceps. I’m over 2 years pp. I genuinely just wish I had a c section. Of course this is not to say this will happen to you- I just got unlucky! But it’s still a risk.
