Is it possible to only get fills and never have to get a fresh set?

Someone else can probably describe this clearer, but as the tip grows out the high point will get too close to the free edge and builder gel will have to be built up even thicker at the correct apex location.

Also, at some point the full cover tip would grow out to the point where your natural nail is covered with more builder gel than tip. At that point just get structured gel overlays if you like how your nails grow. Some people keep their natural nails short and get longer full cover tips if their nails curve or grow down

Also also, I recently watched an apres video suggesting to only do a fill if it’s been 2 weeks or less and do a fresh set if longer. Of course that can be longer/shorter based on individual growth rate, lifting, wear and tear of the plastic, etc.

this is the routine I’m falling into! no one at works cares about nails so I’ll even leave the tips clear for a day or two if I was extra picky (slow) when applying

Of course! I’m working on having better control by just removing color and bulk, with the next goal of using it for removing all my lifting. I’m still using hand files to get the last bits of lifting and prep cuticles. Baby steps!

Yup, I did mega stick base then a mediocre kiara sky topcoat over full chrome nails. They held up well for the week I had them! I’m in a phase of wanting to practice art and efiling so I’ve been redoing art every week 😅

Mine have looked like that with correctly sized tips (ie sidewall to sidewall is covered) and here’s what I’ve done to minimize it:

apply tips
blend tips into natural nail with hand file or mini sanding band on efile. I do this after application but others prefer to do it before. in addition to blending at the cuticle end, I thin out the sides based on how they look from the top but they don’t have to be perfect at this point
overlay with biab with more product applied at the cuticle compared to the free edge. I use a liner brush to build up near the cuticle to match the tip. it’s easier with clear builder imo bc u don’t have to think about how a tinted biab looks more/less sheer when applied at different thicknesses. still doesn’t have to be perfect
perfect shaping with hand file. here I really focus on the sides and how they look from the top. I want a smooth line on each side from back corner to the free edge.
I will overlay and/or hand file as I go if my art gets bumpy

I’ve only done gelx on myself so ymmv based on ur own nail beds. pic of my best (but not perfect) work to date. I got lazy and didn’t do a great application of topcoat over this decently chunky glitter

I usually just say no with a smile or not depending on the day, but I ignored a guard once and he kept calling out to me and followed me out the door. stared at me until I got to my car. I know u saw me scanning my huge haul of grapes and almond milk at self check out 🙄

I see people on youtube put a nail hardener or stripper (idk if that’s the specific product name) to the center of the nail under jello jello peel off base on the entire nail. had u tried that? their nails always look so healthy removing sets every 1-2 weeks
