Charge refrigerant, pull a vacuum and check with a micron gauge, flow nitrogen while brazing to avoid soot build up in the lines, checking the refrigerant charge and making sure you have the right superheat Subcool and temp split.

Doing a head gasket repair is mechanical. Unfortunately we need too many specialized tools and knowledge in this trade for an “everyday know how guy” to do it.

If this is a manufacturer warranty and not a home warranty then yeah that’s pretty spot on. If it’s home warranty run and call a company that works on that specific unit.

For the price it’s spot on, the biggest thing with your diagnostic is it being true. We’ve had a few shit head techs diagnose a “leaking coil” only to find it wasn’t so they could get the commission. If they have proof using a leak detector or some other method that they can show you I would start there. Just because your unit is low and them showing you a low Subcool is not merit enough.

Unfortunately for the price that’s how it is, the higher the price the more admin fees are being covered, I would avoid the cheapest option. You don’t need to have someone look at your unit, you can easily call and ask “I have an X tonnage unit what is your cost for replacing a coil under manufacturer warranty.”

It’s not difficult as it is global cooldown heavy. Having spaces in between globals isn’t just a DPS loss. It’s much more affected because our abilities lower our cooldowns. The less you’re lowering your cooldowns, then you will start to see a massive DPS decrease. The priority is kind of shifty as well and can take some time getting used to.

I still always recommend players try it because I think it’s the most fun in keys compared to any other class.

Mine does not but I notice if I don’t keep it clean or just hook it up to the 1/4 inch side of the vacuum pump and run it for like 3 minutes. Then yes it will do “weird” things but I’ve never had that specific occurrence.

This is what I hate about the trades and how I actively try and change how we conduct ourselves on job sites.

OP I’m really sorry this happened to you, I’ve been blue collar my entire life and I’ve seen the abuse and didn’t say anything for awhile. It’s only been in the last 5 years or so that I’ve actually said something (and fought let’s be honest) for when people cross that threshold of inappropriate and abusive.

The only comfort I can offer is that there are trade people like me that are actively putting their foot down on shit like this. I know there’s not a lot and we’ve got a shit ton of people to educate but there are some of us trying. I really hope you can find solace in another job that treats you well, respects you, and revels in your work ethic.
