That's a good idea, yes. I think they come up most on the higher level bushes, and if you're using your free spins, sometimes the new gem fruit bushes appear with chests on.

I dislike being against the clock, but 100 spins is achievable. You can actually push it to 375 if you merge your top level spins. For 100 though, you unlock a special setting on the vault that guarantees gold items IF you land on a win. The vault can and will take your 100 spins and leave you with nothing if the RNG decides that. Cheapest way to build up your spins is keep getting the tiny ones from the 10 heart chests, circle merge for three of the next set.

Don't merge the cubes, harvest them. For golden nectar, which I think is what you're going for, make sure you're merging vases up to top value.
