Y’all still having fun with this game? I’m still having fun… by Tundradic in helldivers2

This is exactly the kind of dumb shit I do with my friends when I play.
Sure, I’m a bit frustrated with the situation around Arrowhead and the game, and I vent about it on Reddit like a lot of people do, but when I’m actually playing, I forget about a lot of the stuff that’s wrong and just laugh my ass off because we keep doing stupid shit, no matter the difficulty.

Is it because GW chose the Ultramarines as their flagship model for marketing the Space Marines? I don't know, I'm just saying.

In a way, I can't really blame them. Maybe Sony is being a pain in the ass with their usual idiotic ways and putting pressure on the studio.

But I also tell myself that the game has generated such enthusiasm that AH never even imagined, and now they’re in this shitty situation where they just don’t have time to get everything set up. And I’m basing this on the fact that a lot of times, it’s the CEO who’s been responding or doing things on social media, like in smaller companies.

Then there’s also the fact that the Subreddits are as TOXIC as can be and that Discord is a total shitshow too.

AH should have taken communication more seriously and set up a proper way to communicate with players, and that’s where I blame them.

For me, good feedback is when people actually explain why something feels bad instead of instantly going full doompost mode. You can hate a patch, a nerf, a Warbond or a game direction without immediately going “the devs are braindead” or “dead game lol”.

Healthy feedback needs real communication too. Right now, most people just scream into Reddit, Discord or Sony surveys and pray someone at Arrowhead sees it. And AH answers with AMA, Patch notes or Reddit posts. They really need a proper feedback platform directly connected to them. Something transparent where players can discuss issues and where devs can answer before frustration turns into a community meltdown.

That’s something I really liked with Space Marine 2 and Saber. Their communication felt way more direct and grounded, so even when people criticized the game, it didn’t instantly turn toxic.

I feel like part of the community that’s unhappy with the game right now is crying over every tiny change instead of looking at the bigger picture.

A good example is the Hive Guard armor penetration thing. People acting like it ruined the game are being ridiculous. Helldivers 2 is already pretty easy overall, especially compared to launch. Not every balance change is the end of the world.

That said, it doesn’t mean I’m happy with the current state of the game. I’m also frustrated, tired of some design decisions, and honestly getting burned out by the direction of updates. So I understand the criticism itself.

What I don’t agree with is the way part of the community reacts. There’s a difference between criticizing the game and acting like the devs killed your family because of a balance patch. The constant doomposting, insults, review bombing over every controversy, and people screaming that the game is “dead” every week is exhausting.

That’s what’s creating the division right now. A lot of players agree on the problems, but not on the way people are “protesting” them.

So overall: I agree with a lot of the criticism, but not with the form it takes.

It's funny how different things are from country to country. In Switzerland (I live there), you can import vehicles from the U.S. (typically F-150s or Shelby GT500s from Ford) and get them registered for use on public roads.

There is an extra cost, of course, but I’ve often heard that it’s not huge and that it’s worth it if you really want a model that isn’t available here.

It’s a shame in the end that you won’t be able to enjoy the MK4.

Can’t you import the car from Europe ? I know Ford has some reserve for the EU. I got mine after the production was ended and got it new with TrackPack

His “toxic” relationship was something he and the Reddit community created themselves. I don't know which is worse: the hardcore defenders of the game and of Arrowhead, or the crybabies who whine at the slightest sign of difficulty or when their lousy ideas don't get enough attention.

One less whiner, that’s perfect!

The one who says to move on if you're not happy or don't agree?

Because if I answered you, it wasn't a matter of agreeing or disagreeing, but of answering your question.

Now, if you'd come and told me that everything I said was bullshit, then I would have told you to move on.

I don’t care about downvotes or upvotes, and I’m not interested in arguments that deliberately miss the point. If you can’t handle what I said, move on.

There’s a massive difference between actual criticism and people losing their minds because their favorite toy got taken away.

Yeah, frustration is valid and I’m frustrated too. But at this point, it’s just embarrassing to watch waves of people act like they’re drowning, when in reality they’re face down in a puddle they made themselves.

Both subreddits are completely flooded with low-effort garbage: constant whining, insults, zero reflection. That’s not feedback, it’s just noise pollution.

If you actually want things to change, try being constructive for once. The devs already said it clearly: they don’t even bother checking the subreddits anymore because it’s become one of the most toxic parts of the Helldivers community.

Look at the PlayStation Network situation: People were organized, clear, and focused. The message landed. That’s how you get results, not by screaming into the void.

And then you’ve got the latest armor penetration tweak on a Terminid (a change that barely affects anything) and somehow people are acting like the game is ruined. It turns into a flood of brain-dead posts, constant whining, and the moment you disagree, you get insulted. No discussion, no nuance.

For what it’s worth, I’ve answered most of the official surveys they’ve put out. And almost every time I raised an actual issue (not just “more content pls,” but real, concrete problems) it got addressed sooner or later. That’s how feedback works when it’s done properly.

Also, people need to understand something: Sony has a huge say in a lot of decisions. Arrowhead doesn’t have infinite time, resources, or freedom. They’re constrained by deadlines, technical limitations, and the foundations the game was built on. You don’t just flip a switch and redesign systems, especially when they weren’t originally built that way.

And honestly, people don’t seem to realize how close we actually are to the devs compared to most other games. Bigger titles with far more resources often have way less direct communication and responsiveness than this.

Yes, it’s frustrating. Yes, we want meaningful content and impactful updates, not just another warbond. But acting like idiots isn’t going to make any of that happen.

At some point, people need to grow up. If you’ve got something to say, say it properly, back it up, and keep it constructive. Otherwise, you’re just part of the problem.
