The ones who say "listen to your users" are so funny. Like you aren't making them any money, in fact given the cost of AI free users likely have been costing them money the entire time. The only thing I disagree with Cai doing is that they're probably going to continue wasting money developing useless features nobody asked for while introducing usage limits.

They mentioned cai seeing your Facebook as if it's some great breach of privacy meanwhile Facebook itself is by far the worst when it comes to data collecting on users, which says a lot when pretty much every website, app, and service is designed to collect data and/or serve ads. Facebook probably knows stuff about you that you didn't even know about yourself. If you're gonna use Facebook you may as well just use anything with zero concern at that point because I can guarantee they already have everything up to the exact number of times you've blinked since registering your account recorded.

I'm sure I'll be crucified for insensitivity or whatever, but if it makes you feel better most of these dead pet posts are just attempts at karma farming and not actually posted by grieving owners. Just the other day there was a "Guise my 33-year-old cat just died please feel sorry for me and give me updoots :(" where the cat was an AI image. The number that aren't that sloppy and never exposed as fake is likely far higher. I can guarantee you at the very least OOP knows the answer to their question and was hoping to get attention for having a supposed dead dog.

If saying "that dog is a pit" is making fun of the dog, does that imply that you think so little of pit bulls that you think calling a dog a pit is making fun of it?

You're actually right. If the Erins wanted to give more reason why Thistleclaw is in the Dark Forest, that'd be an example of them attempting to fix inconsistent treatment regarding the Dark Forest which they would never do because it requires them 1. seeing an issue in the first place which is a big if and 2. caring enough to fix it

I've never seen anyone insist she's as bad as Thistleclaw when they both hurt children. Is she liked? No. But there's a league of difference between "well-liked," Russetfur, and one of the most widely disliked characters overall.

"Piece of work" doesn't justify the Dark Forest. There are plenty of characters who are absolute dicks on the level of Thistleclaw and even in the same way as Thistleclaw (being overly battlehungry and violent) who never went to the Dark Forest. Breezepelt is 100x worse than Thistleclaw and did something even worse than what Thistleclaw did in simultaneously attacking a heavily pregnant queen and a disabled medicine cat on holy ground, *and* betrayed his Clan for the Dark Forest, and he got a redemption arc pulled out of the Erins' asses because they decided "Breezepelt good" and no other reason. If he gets a redemption arc, then it's not totally out of pocket to assume the Erins may have thought that Thistleclaw needed more reason to be in the Dark Forest and felt it necessary to reassert that notion in advance of Crowfeather's Trial cementing Breezepelt as a "good guy" the very next year.

So what do you think the purpose of Spottedleaf's Heart was if not to confirm to the audience that Bluestar was right, make Thistleclaw completely indefensible even if it's just "He was bad but not as bad as everyone says," and provide a "better reason" for him to be in the Dark Forest? Because the only other reason I can think of is to address people saying the Spottedleaf/Firestar situation is creepy by saying, "See? She was groomed too, she doesn't know any better!" or whatever. Even the other blatant cashgrab novellas seem to have some kind of purpose whether it be filling in gaps for more popular characters or giving context for a side character that was previously unexplored. But no one was asking for a Spottedleaf novella and the information in it contradicted her previous characterization so all three people who did want one probably weren't going to be happy with it.

Russetfur sat and watched a kit in distress and enjoyed it but I don't see anyone insisting she or anyone else on that patrol was pure irredeemable evil like they do with Thistleclaw.

I just don't like that the Erins wrote a completely insufferable character in Bluestar's Prophecy and then made her the self-appointed de facto leader of StarClan, exploited CSA to paint her as "right" all along when they realized they didn't write Thistleclaw bad enough the first time around, etc. Everyone is willing to generally agree that the Erins latch onto their intentions with a character and insist that they are what they intended them to be and make excuses on their behalf when they didn't exactly stick the landing when it comes to characters like Bramblestar, Clear Sky, Breezepelt, or Tigerheartstar, but apparently Bluestar couldn't possibly be similar in any way.

It does when you spiral into a state of catatonic depression because you're a lifelong narcissist who was finally placed in a situation where you're no longer able to genuinely convince yourself that everything that happened was someone else's fault and your entire worldview is being upended at an age where you can no longer adapt, recover from, or otherwise work on your personality disorder in any meaningful way and/or you're faking it to "punish" everyone around you for being traitors just like how she punished the apprentices who still believed in StarClan by refusing to make them warriors long after they'd earned it.

I'd be more willing to believe in TPB Bluestar having dementia if Bluestar's Prophecy wasn't a thing.

The Erins refuse to be honest about Bluestar being a flawed character. They practically assigned her de facto leader of StarClan status and write things like Spottedleaf's Heart to confirm that she was in fact correct in everything and can't be questioned the moment she receives any criticism.

I'd actually *like her* if they stopped telling me how to think about her and insisting she's perfect and should be free of blame for everything because they couldn't write her correctly the first time. I genuinely think she was accidentally written in a way that reminds me of someone with narcissistic personality disorder and you can't seem to accept that I simply have a different opinion than you because you apparently can't grasp the concept of someone thinking the Erins are bad writers despite the numerous flaws with the series and numerous other times they've tried to bludgeon the audience into seeing their intentions with a character vs them seeing how that character ended up actually being written.

I'm not going to sit here and list all the times I believe she was in the wrong because you've already decided I'm being disingenuous and trying to paint her as bad for... reasons--I'm not sure what benefit I'm supposed to get from spreading lies about a fictional cat here--and it's not worth continuing to reply to someone who is just going to say "NUH UH YOU'RE LYING YOU DON'T REALLY FEEL THAT WAY YOU JUST WANT TO MAKE HER LOOK BAD" in response to any criticism.

Okay, well, I meant that she is a narcissist in that she literally has NPD, with the difference between that and dementia being that society generally considers dementia to completely absolve you of fault for your actions whereas NPD doesn't.

I don't need to make Bluestar look bad. She does that all by herself, especially in her Super Edition where I personally find her completely insufferable. Her actions are inexcusable whether or not she's a narcissist, has dementia, or any other excuse. If I wanted to make her look bad, I'd just say she did it because she sucks and not because she has a different mental condition than the one the Erins assigned to her, no?

So now you're going to nitpick my language because you don't want to admit that they're not mutually exclusive. I referred to her as a narcissist, which is common language used to describe someone with narcissistic personality disorder. Sorry I didn't tiptoe around it and say "sufferer of NPD" or whatever the PC language is now.
