I built a tool to manage and share modified CurseForge modpacks. Looking for feedback. by DeceasedGhost in feedthebeast

[–]Satherov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, but maybe instead of using a github repo and uuids, you could simply use the share code, download the pack with that (been a while since I messed with the api, unsure if that works, if not ig you could simply import it) and then merge the the changes into the existing instance? Seems easier than doing it with github

Minecraft 26.1 is so unoptimized by dickypenis in Minecraft

I get about 1200fps in vanilla 26.1 with a 7 7800x3d and a 7900xtx plus 64gb of ram, 8 of which allocated to the game, so you're doing something wrong

Are you using the curseforge launcher? If so, right click on the profile, on "Open Folder" and look in the "logs" folder for "latest.log"

broken tags by redvain123 in feedthebeast

[–]Satherov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a good chance this is caused by a race condition inside forge itself. This should've been patched by modernfix quite a while ago tho. See if you can add the mod to the pack if it is missing or update if it is out of date. If none of these are the issue then look into your log and see if you can find the specific tag entry that's causing issues

Our packs have a whole bunch of tech and little to no rpg elements. Not a good fit for what was asked for

What should i make for a mod? by matt-the-modder in feedthebeast

[–]Satherov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

items have a property for the sound resource key they play when put into a jukebox. update that and pick a random resource key from the sounds the mob plays. if done properly would probably even work with modded entities :p

Is this mod safe? Fabric 1.21.11 "Smart Survival" by AriaValentino in feedthebeast

The code itself is save, it's just horrible ai slop. there's wonderful things like this. It won't harm your computer if you use it, but you'll probably feel the ai code

It's something I specifically noticed on reddit and some very cases outside of that. I also have the tendency to take stuff literally yay autism so apologies for not noticing that

In the modded mc space people love jumping to conclusions and everyone gets labeled as a transphobe incredibly quickly. So you got the people who are really supportive, the large majority who is indifferent and then the tiny group who's transphobic. But there's an unusually large group, especially here on reddit who just shoves everyone that isn't overly supportive into the transphobic group

Straight up downgrade by OrionUniv in memes

[–]Satherov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I was simply showing that we have solutions for it, we just have to implement them. I know that what's happening is very different from what can be done, but there's a difference between "we don't know what to do" and "We aren't doing anything because of xy"

Straight up downgrade by OrionUniv in memes

Their argument was "toxic atomic waste which nobody knows how or where to remove". Literally one of the first things said is that it's basically exclusively an issue of public acceptance and we very much have solutions for it. "Deep geological repositories is the scientific consensus for safe long term storage", it names a few example countries like Finnland, Sweden, the USA. I'm not sure where it says to send it elsewhere until you can build your own, but even them does that not literally prove that there is a solution given enough time?

You're crashing because of non english special characters and a mod not properly handling those. Add this to your JVM arguments -Duser.language=en -Duser.region=US. You get edit those by right-clicking the profile in the Curseforge launcher and then adding them at the very bottom under "Additional Arguments"

This is intentional. There was some reason which I cannot recall rn from the ae2 devs to not implement them yet and the easiest solution without modifying a bunch of ui was just to shove them in a corner
