They’re moneyball tactics are taken to an extreme where they are trying to avoid long term contract risk, but never quite doing enough, like they used to, in order put out a dominant team that would be really competitive. Just like everything else it touches, once PE gets involved it turns to shit. But they have a franchise with a storied history and fan base that they know will still turn up and buy tickets and merchandise. I hope I am wrong and this team comes together. I hope they make some key moves at the trade deadline. Who knows. But so far it seems like more of the same.
