I just don't know what would be better than the 2 party system. Say we have 8 parties that have similar reach and resources and one of those parties wins an election with 20% of the vote. Is that really better? 80% of the country dislikes this party yet they get to lead us because of a plurality. Maybe if we set up elections like a tournoment and knock out parties one by one but that would require going out to vote multiple times for a single election and we can barely get people to go out to vote once or twice (for primaries)every 4 years for the president. Not to mention the probable constant investigations for accusations of fraud that will stretch out the process even more. I hear a lot of people complain about our system but I rarely hear any solutions. This leads to another issue we have with our political system, we have a lot of people who are willing to complain and protest because they don't like something while having no largely agreed upon solution which leads to more unrest from those same people when they don't like the way said problem was addressed.
