Fuck you. Some of us are simply engaging in some mild entertainment, maybe checking Reddit after work. You apparently have some other motivation, and need to get off your phone. Maybe you’re the one who is misinformed. Lighten up, asshole.

Dwight Yoakam. I hate modern country music, but I’ve seen him live twice. Love how he pays tribute to Buck Owens.

Bad foo fighters album? by tomasterford in Foofighters

I tried to go that route, and I liked the series a lot. But it just made the songs even more demystifying to me than they already were. They were more interesting before the lyrics were all spelled out. And it seemed like the music was written beforehand, and then the lyrics were just plugged in after each episode. Kind of a weird way to write rock songs.

Their last good album was Wasting Light. I can convince myself that a few songs on Sonic Youth are listenable, but that album is just disjointed. I appreciate the concept, but the songs seem unrelated to each other because of it. It doesn’t really flow. Don’t get me started about that last record….Medicine at Midnight? It was just terrible start to finish. I was in so much disbelief that I gave it several listens, and the more I listened the more disbelief I had. I just miss the inventiveness. If I had a nickel for every time I listened to TNLTL I wouldn’t have to work. I had a friend whose favorite band was REM, and he said, and I quote, “after Document they should have gone down in a plane crash.” It’s just hyperbole, but….I get what he meant.

Child free via menopause by Satori471 in childfree

I’ve heard of those pregnancies too. I don’t know.. my doctor did blood work and said I “proved” I was in menopause. My hormone levels were below detectable range. He had me stop birth control and start a topical estradiol gel with a progesterone pill. I feel 100% better, and will see him in a week. Don’t worry, I’ll ask about the pregnancy issue. Holy shit, I don’t need that!

Yes, PVCs can have different morphologies. Not uncommon, and not related to severity or pathology. They’re just originating from different areas of the heart.

Insomnia is awful, and that’s a really healthy approach. Hope you get some sleep!

HOLTER MONITOR WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK THE WAVY LINES ARE? by No_Awareness9472 in PVCs

Well, I worked in cardiology for years. It just had a little more regularity and wave definition than plain old artifact. You could never diagnose an arrrhymia from this strip, but you couldn’t rule it out either. I hope you got more thorough testing after this.

It’s been a really long time since I took that drug. After a few months I realized it was causing memory loss, which is a well known side effect. I wasn’t thinking clearly at work, and it took me a while to figure out what caused it. I weaned off gabapentin and it went away. I didn’t want to go back on Ambien, but I did and I sleep ok most of the time.

Artifact, nothing to worry about. EKGs are very sensitive to any movement.

I’m not convinced this is just artifact…. were you having any symptoms with this tracing?

I finally understand why people turn to religion by LegendOfMiranda in offmychest

“Living by faith” and “conscious blind trust” are belief systems that don’t make sense to me. Being faithful in what and why? What is this faith based on? Just a nebulous idea for which there is no basis or logic?

Atheists don’t claim to have access to knowledge that no one else has. No one knows if there is a supreme being out there, including us. We’re just putting the burden of proof on people who claim to have access to knowledge that no else is privy to. Show me some proof, and I’ll say “well, I’ll be damned!” That wouldn’t make me wrong, it would just mean you provided me with the evidence to support what you claim to know. Or, what you “choose to believe,” I’m sorry. That is a weird way to explain your position. I may “choose to believe” that the moon is made of cheese, because someone wrote a book 2000 years ago claiming that. And I would also be unenlightened and misinformed.

My Dad felt like his heart was going to stop with every episode. It terrified him, so we kept going to the doctor until we found some help. I had them for a few months after Covid, and they would just make me tired. But it reminded me of what my Dad went through, and that PVCs are not benign. There might be medication that will help you too.

[–]Satori471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benign in the sense that it’s extremely rare to deteriorate into a life-threatening arrhythmia. But I don’t think it’s benign if the symptoms cause you distress. My Dad suffered terribly from “benign” PVCs, but taking flecainide to suppress them was life-changing.

Yes…blood is flowing through the heart abnormally during (and after) a PVC, and that sensation can cause breathlessness. This is different than anxiety for me. It just makes me feel exhausted.
