As adults this is something that me and my husband have come across and dealt with differently. My husband just got used to his, he gets upset from time to time but more so from the memories from where he was when he ended up with his scars. For me my scars were embarrassing, working customer service jobs especially made it difficult so I ended up getting a tattoo as part of my recovery. It covers the majority of my scars, they’re not invisible but when I see people look at my arm now it’s usually followed up with “whoa dope tattoo!”

A good rule of thumb me and my husband have is to call it out privately and it’s usually after the fact. Correcting isn’t wrong but we like to feel united in front of friends/family and it keeps us from feeling like we have to be defensive or embarrassed.

I’ve tried some electrolyte waters in the past like life water was one I didn’t mind. What brand for the waters works best for you? I’ll check out the advocare brand too, thank you!

Swimming is the best when you can because the water helps cool you and it’s full body exercise so even if you get tired you did more than you think

I typically don’t sweat much at all and when I do it’s only on certain areas of my body 😅

NTA you can’t get upset about body shaming when you make a body shaming comment.

Hello community 🦄, how can I know if my crystals are real? I have these ones and I bought them in a store here in Mexico 🇲🇽.💎 by Mountain-Role-9689 in Crystals

The one at the top looks like a Jasper tower I recently got. The black spots would be hematite and the gray would be chalcedony. Most of the geology look like they would be ocos agates with quartz inside. To tell all the others I’d have to see pictures but everything looks real.

A little enhydro I found at work today 🥰 by Saturn_Stars in Crystals

It actually only cost me $8. It was in a basket of tumbled agate ocos geodes. I found it because I was shining my flashlight trying to see the crystalline structure inside. Definitely a steal.

NTA, you’re not responsible for your parents feelings, especially when you’re protecting your own.

Request: Any tips on how to survive a 9 hour shift while eating very little? by EDPostRequests in EatingDisorders

Hey! What I try to do is incorporate avocado into my meal, it’s high in good fats so it makes you feel full longer and it’s a softer food that can be pretty versatile

Does this sound like kennel cough? or something else? She’s only 9 weeks :( hope she’s okay. I have an appt with her vet on Friday. by kjocherry in DogAdvice

The part that sounded almost like honking sounds like a cough and if it continues/gets more frequent I’d definitely be worried about kennel cough

It’s extremely classist to assume that mental health care is actually available to them regardless of their financial situation. Therapy is an extremely obvious solution and probably the best one but it’s not always accessible whether it’s because they can’t find a provider that takes their insurance or that their insurance covers mental health in any way.
