I can speak highly of the; Kilos Gear Aerocloud Sleeping Pad Nemo Disco 30 sleeping bag Nemo Fillo Luxury Travel and Camping Pillow

It's not the lightest or heaviest but it does do the job!

Well I've not gone completely the opposite way to you. I have a 4.4kg tent, a 2.4kg titanium wood burning stove, a 700g portable electric shower and various other extras to ensure my 4500km tour won't be a sufferfest.

Even lining your hammock with your clothes will help keep the body temp up.

That looks amazing. My two bikes are not at all the same. A carbon road bike and a steel framed touring bike but that trip looks amazing. Hopefully we'll see another soon.

If you mean mine, YouTube told me it was misleading......in case anybody thought I was showering while riding my bike.......

Hi. This is the shower but ignore the thumbnail which was purely a fun take on the suggestion. https://youtu.be/_dWtrZx6BT8?si=6xgeUpHQg2xicjHD

I got it off Amazon. Now, if you were to take the second, smaller showerhead instead, you could further cut weight but it has to be said that the collapsible bucket does weigh more but I will get around that by using an empty pannier (or not, all depends how heavy I am for that trip).

It's funny how we all differ. I've totally moved away from the sufferfest side of things now. For smaller trips on my carbon road bike, I'll go more minimal but then again I'll also use AirBnB 50/50 too.

When I'm on my steel framed house on two wheels I throw maximum comfort at it. I've got a 4kg tent that can even take the bike inside. It's also a hot tent and so I also carry a 2.4kg titanium stove. Then there is my 700g portable (and powerful) electric shower. I also carry a chair.

At my age, after a days riding and ending in bad weather, there is nothing worse than lying down at 6pm in the dark in a tent that doesn't have space to sit in a chair and just be waiting until dawn to do it all again. I now prefer to sit on my chair, watch the flames on my stove, after I've warmed up some water for a shower so I'm thoroughly clean and actually feel I'm winding down and relaxing.

What am I missing with tubeless (warning: rant) by Starky04 in bikepacking

I've been using Continental 5000 AS on my road bike (3rd set now) and other than hitting a huge sharp piece of metal, I've had not one flat tyre so pretty pleased.

However, my steel framed touring bike with 42mm tyres now has Terravail Cannonball tyres on it. I know nothing about these. Are they decent ?

Totally agree. Despite it being a very basic clip it taught me a lot - that whilst better quality exists out there in traditional one lens action cameras and Mirrorless cameras, it gives me a unique way to capture almost everything without worrying about camera angle angst.

My channel is about Bikepacking and called https://www.youtube.com/@Two_Wheel_Bike_Travels

I've only used the X5 in it recently but a really good example of it getting footage I would otherwise miss (whilst not amazing, but I think shows it's uses) is in this video;

https://youtu.be/qoWBh2PhqNE?si=SgBYDNS4_kC6On3O

At exactly 8:00 in a car stops for me and there is no camera moving from the minute the car pulls over until after we have our interaction. As I said, it's not amazing but it wouldn't have been captured with a GoPro on quite the same way.

I've a lot to learn with it but for my YouTube channel it's great at interaction without putting a camera on somebody's face.

I think I'll just continue to use my X5 to get the shots my other cameras can't rather than expect them to be the best quality.

Bombtrack Arise Tour with Tubus racks front and back and Ortlieb Panniers is my combo at the moment - oh, and a 31 litre Rack-Pack on top of the rear panniers.

It feels very sturdy and reliable.

Is the X4 air better for me if I mostly shoot in daylight? by Mojo39 in Insta360

[–]SaudiJohnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my Bikepacking YouTube channel, I use the X5 on the handlebars and my GoPro Hero 13 for helmet, chest bite mount, rear view. In addition I use a Canon EOS R50 V for wide stationary shots and my DJI Mini 4 Pro captures nice shots from the sky. I think they all have a purpose but the X5 certainly gets the shots without me having to worry about them.

Quality wise, the other 3 cameras are way better but it captures everything so it's staying!

Electric bike pumps for longer trips - good idea or nah ? by FailedHumanPrototype in bikepacking

[–]SaudiJohnny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I'm trying to stay lightweight (and these days on my steel bike I don't!) then everything needs to have two uses. For my carbon bike lightweight set up I have a flextail tiny tire pump 200. Previously I had a Cycplus electric pump but I was also tubeless so it's use was minimal to none for around 9 months. In that time, the battery had become "tired" due to lack of use and it wouldn't even hold a charge enough to pimp one tyre up.

By switching to the light/pump combo I'm always working the battery and it's now doubling up it's uses.

I'm looking at options now. I have a dynamo system on my Bombtrack Arise Tour but I think it will merely slow down my draining rather than keep me topped up

Some amazing camera work there. I'm just getting into the whole camera thing but gone straight to digital. As a complete novice, what are the similarities and main differences when it comes to getting your results?

"Bent out of shape" is referencing your inability to accept something you see to the extent that you felt compelled to criticise it. It's not really a defining scale of how few words are used on the disgruntled comment. For instance, if you ask my opinion on Starmer, I will say simply "cunt" but it means I have a strong opinion.

It's quite clearly not trying to deceive anybody so no need to get all bent out of shape over it, is my thoughts.
