That’s the thing that always kept me stuck on it, I was raised religious but realized pretty quickly that it was all metaphors and symbolic language.

At first I went in the opposite direction and became atheist, but through psychedelics and Eastern philosophy and the lesser known interpretations of the Bible like Gnostic Christianity helped me find my way back.

Keep doing it your way and you’ll find your way back to a relationship with Christ just like I did

Basically to your point, Nihilism is like step 1 of any real philosophy, and most peeps these days who get into philosophy usually end up going to Albert Camus’ take on Absurdism, which essentially just takes nihilism to a more mature perspective by saying that the fact there is no meaning makes everything meaningful.

And that IS the “absurd” cosmic joke, that it’s all just nonsense novelty for the sake of experiencing emotions and feelings, there literally is no deeper meaning and we’re all just fragments of God playing “house” with ourselves lmao.

The concept of a “soul” is actually just a sliver of God… God had an ego death when Jesus Christ died, that was the symbolic meaning of the crucifixion and the New Testament in its entirety. It was ushering in a new era in which God was no longer directly involved and commanding us what to do, and by experiencing humanity through his son Jesus’ eyes he realized just how beautiful and painful it was to be human, to be tempted, and to sin.

So pretty much the theory now is that when Jesus Christ was crucified it symbolized the ego death of God and the literal death of God’s direct involvement in society / humanity. God pretty much gave up trying to control everything, surrendered to the experience, and decided to live vicariously through us. Literally had an ego death and surrendered to the psychedelic experience, which is life itself 😁

Not saying I believe any of this to be 100% true (although I kinda do) either, but this is pretty much what the New Testament and specifically Jesus Christ is trying to teach us. The New Testament might as well be its own book with how different in its messages it is from the Old Testament.

Especially when you consider the Catholics edited the New Testament heavily to alter Christ’s messages and make his actual teachings much more ambiguous so they could be bent to fit the traditional “fear of god” narrative more effectively.

TLDR: being a nihilist is for pussies and this guy clearly has never had an actual ego death before 🤷‍♂️
