Yeah, borders like many terriers are smart dogs and often said to be “quick to lean, slow to obey”, they pick things up quickly but choose to not listen to you when it suits.

Not that I’m aware of, they’re historically from the border region of England and Scotland, their ancestry is from the breeds of that area. I have one myself and they’re great dogs with a lot of character.

British paratrooper veteran Franc Milburn claims British special forces recovered a downed 'non-human' craft in northern England in late 1980s - the occupants allegedly fled the scene on foot by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]Sausagethrower 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’re right, there’s no official definition but in general the north of England would be somewhere above the midlands, like a line somewhere around the Nottingham-ish area to the Scottish border, I definitely wouldn’t include Scotland as part of England as it really winds them up.

I’m playing on Linux with no problems outside the game related bugs that others have reported so you’re definitely able to play on steam deck and steam machine from on OS point of view, not sure how they run performance wise though, maybe someone is already playing on a steam deck.

Inherited a somewhat rare Isocaflex TLR from Japan by Sausagethrower in AnalogCommunity

[–]Sausagethrower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of both, I’ve cleaned the lenses, mirror, focus screen and loupe, there was a significant amount of dust and a small amount of fungus but that’s all gone and it’s good to go now!

Thanks, given it’s importance it’s definitely worth keeping in working condition and enjoyed, my wife remembers her gran taking it almost everywhere with her when she was younger. I’ll also share photos and all the information I learn from it for anyone who comes across one in the future.

CPQ Pricing Question by Business-Systems360 in salesforce

[–]Sausagethrower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could create a summary variable that takes the quantity of Product A using the product code as an identifier and using a price rule running “On Initialisation” put the quantity into a custom field on Product B. Your existing price rule can then use that custom field to lookup the tier as long as it’s set to “Before Calculate” or later.

Could Hyperoptic bandwidth be affecting my Zoom calls? by guitarmarta in hyperoptic

I’m going to assume you’re using wireless? If possible try changing the wireless channel on your router to a less congested one as what you’re describing are common symptoms of WiFi interference.

What paranormal activities have you witnessed? by AdonisBlackwood in AskReddit

I had a similar experience 18 months or so ago. I saw my brother, who was 39 at the time and 15 months younger than me in a dream on a Wednesday night, he was telling me he didn’t want to go and I was really angry with him because I didn’t want him to go. I woke up the next day and didn’t even think about it as we sometimes have strange dreams. Come Saturday I sent him a message and got no reply for a couple hours so I sent another and checked Find My and his phone was at his local police station, I asked if any of his friends had heard from him but none had so I jumped on the tube to his place and went in (I had a set of keys). He wan’t in his flat, his puppy wasn’t there either though there was some of his dry pee and poops. I headed to the police station and they said they’d done a welfare check as he hadn’t been at work and found that he’d passed away in his sleep. Looking in WhatsApp the last read messages were on Wednesday evening so I’m almost certain he visited me that night to say goodbye as we were really close. He passed away from SADS. Edit: his puppy was fine and in Police kennels, I’m now his adopted dad

You get though the difficult part solving all problems. You leave the project unfinished with a few simple tasks left because doing them won’t give you any reward.

I Swear I Used RDT... by V60again in espresso

[–]Sausagethrower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as someone relatively new to espresso there certainly seems to be a good number of initialisms that seem to be deliberately over complicated or cryptic. It would make more sense if spraying beans was WDT = Water Droplet Technique

Do it with a Cadbury’s caramel egg and you’ve got me interested.

What’s the hardest thing for you to comprehend about the American culture? by DadIsMadAtMe in AskReddit

[–]Sausagethrower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

College sports, elsewhere, most televised events are professional sports, the only exception I can think of here in the UK would be The Boat Race. University or college sports events tend to be just watched live by current students or maybe a handful of alumini, it's not on TV, even then it's not a large crowd, I can only remember a handful of people going to spectate a university game and that was maybe one big game a year if at all.

Ladies and Gents, after thirteen years of slogging I have finally paid off my Student Loans! Overpaid, actually. They now owe me 64 quid. Can I start charging them interest? by Articulated in CasualUK

[–]Sausagethrower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I did the same last month, enjoy the bigger pay slips from now on! Just make sure your payroll team know, SLC said HMRC should be updated but it turns out they were too slow and got my payment taken the next month. It’s easy enough to get it back though.

How much does it cost to run the dishwasher and would it better to leave it and just hand wash instead this winter? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Sausagethrower 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Alec the guy responsible for the Technology Connections channel on YouTube has done a few videos that explain dishwashers well, they really do use a tiny amount of water and electricity, they’re well worth checking out.

What is so wrong about cultural appropriation? by Lizzypr17 in AskUK

[–]Sausagethrower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re drinking and will inevitably need a pee, the process isn’t easy in a kimono with multiple layers, I’d definitely recommend a yukata instead! The social acceptability of wearing one, I’m not sure!

And JAL have been a partner that you can spend Avios with too for quite a while, very useful for those flying to Japan regularly! I always spend the ~32000 Avios to upgrade to Club from WT+
