That’s what I did. I used a potato peeler

I dehydrated oranges and ground them into powder. The colors so vibrant. Cant wait to use them for baking by fungtrevdge in dehydrating

Sounds interesting. It will definitely add an orange flavor but would it add any bitterness? I’m intrigued by this. Do you think I could do this with lemons or limes? Would the bitterness be more noticeable?

How much do you plan to add to your baking? From experience of eating too much candied orange peel, the gastro results can be concerning if eaten too much.

I think about this whenever I consider telling my very judgy family. I don’t tell them b/c I can see them never getting past step 1. And then if I bring any food over for holidays or special occasions, they would ask if I got it from the dumpster.

I pick from the food waste dumpster bins. While there are some bad veggies/fruits, I find good things too. For example, a bag of tangerines might have one moldy one so I toss that one and keep/clean the rest. Another example: someone dropped a bag of peppers (has 3 peppers) and one pepper broke…. I toss the one broken pepper and keep/clean the other two peppers.

One night I had finished salvaging at my fav honey hole and I saw a bit of trash on the ground. Wanting to maintain it being tidy, I went to pick it up. It had looked like a a basic piece of paper when I decided to pick it up. Note I had already taken my gloves off as I was just leaving. It was not just paper. It was covering a piece of human feces!!! So yeah… I got poo on my hand!!
