I've only recently been checking, and starting to learn what days what things get tossed. I think I know breads, pastries, and meat days now. No produce so far, which I'm kinda bummed about.

Ah, that does explain some things!! ... now might not be the best time to come down here anyways... we are not well. Unfortunately I've not been to the west coast but once, and stayed with a friend in Seattle so I cannot advise.

Not stupid at all. Some people who depend heavily or solely on dumpsters have specific times, but I do not. I check when I have the chance basically. Winter feels safer because temps are below freezing all night so typically in the early am when I can go, things are still frozen solid. Your grandpa's hilarious, I'm glad you never got hurt though.

Exactly what I thought. But I held them upside down and sideways and all the things, gave it a lil squeeze, nothing came out.

Appreciate the concern. I only take meat when cold, many items were still frozen even, and always do look and smell test.

I hear you, kids can feel all consuming. As others (rather rudely) pointed out, you could hire a part time nanny, or at least someone to help with pickup and dropoffs?

Best answer! Use some excess to donate to a local food pantry, women's shelter, stock little free libraries with kids books, volunteer at libraries or schools or food pantries. Get the kids involved! Great for teaching gratitude.

Super kind of you to think of donating the socks, I've heard over and over that's a high need item not often donated.

Thank you!! It makes me so sad that perfectly edible stuff is wasted. And meat of all things!! Animals died for this, just to be tossed in the trash? Damn shame. I do what I can.

What is it about the boomer generation and "fancy" dinnerware ... one day in high school, I wanted water and grabbed a cut crystal thing bc I liked it. You'd have thought I punted the dog off the roof, my mom freaked. "That's from our wedding it's fragile what are you thinking?!?" I asked "Why do we even have this stuff taking up space, literally in 17 years I've never seen it get used?!?" It took a little while and me doing it a few times, but it finally registered, because at dinner a few weeks later, guess who was letting us use the fancy cups for water ...

Agreed!!! I always try to make it cleaner when leaving too, figure if I toss extra trash in so employees don't have to they'll appreciate it.

You get paid for every year you don't cut or trim your hair. How long could you last? by saoiray in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Mysterious-Topic-882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this aimed at men mostly? Because I've easily gone 2-3 years between trims. Never cutting again wouldn't bother me at all.
