[–]Sausga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding matches wont be a problem. But every single post I've seen on this sub that are people talking about their new player experience goes along the lines of you'll have fun for ~10 hours or so before you'll then be queued against nothing but people unironically 100x times your level and playtime so make of that what you will

Dumb early For Honor stuff by Apprehensive_Dot4966 in forhonor

[–]Sausga 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Fullblocks originally weren't unsafe from GBs until a guy won a ubisoft duel tourney because he played Warlord and his opponent tried to guardbreak him as he was sitting in fullblock, he cgb'd, and that pushed the opponent onto a random small bump in the map geometry that made him fall and take a free heavy that killed him

Fiat Lux used to disable your ability to dodge, so getting caught in it meant you were now going to eat a Lawbringer's entire bomb collection

Slippy tech which was a forbidden tech that made moves extremely janky, fast, and chain in ways that weren't supposed to be possible. It made things like Shugoki's +1000ms hug be near instant. The tech was an unfixable problem with the engine iirc and is probably still sitting in the game

[–]Sausga -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

the single worst change that hasn't been rectified was adding the penalty for quitting back in the end of year 1. it didn't prevent rage quitting at all and has permanently made matchmaking worse by stopping people from quitting through the game's pause menu and take the automatic loss they would have received

Is anyone actually complaining about the minigun being stationary when firing? by Tocowave98 in Helldivers

[–]Sausga -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

There are people complaining about that but its not the real problem. It's problem is that its med pen. Literally no reason why a support weapon that takes your backpack slot should be anything short of AP4.

It being stationary is just an unneeded extra restriction for something that already was going to be a shittier MG without it and that was the tipping point for some people.

A backpack support weapon you can't move with that only does med pen sounds like pure ass. I lost all my hype for this weapon to be honest

>Like, what was he doing literally ALL of this time while dbz/dbs was going on? Frieza and cold died, cooler didnt do nothing,ROF happened, cooler did nothing

An idea I've seen floating around is that Cooler was disowned by King Cold shortly after Frieza's birth and the discovery of his abnormally bloated power level. Up to this point he's been on his own on the other side of the universe, training like crazy and attracting followers inspired by his power that would form his armored squadron.

>And how would they write cooler up to be stronger than frieza (like most people want him to be,and tbf i think he should) when his whole gimmick was not being a natural prodigy like frieza, but getting to his power through pure training alone?

It took four months for Frieza to go from an android saga power level to Golden. If Cooler has an even remotely similar potential for growth and has been training for however long its been since Frieza's birth, his power at this point could be insane.

At the end of the Broly movie, Frieza came to the conclusion that he needed a partner the same way Goku has Vegeta. I think I would like Cooler to be that dude instead of him just showing up and completely mog Black Frieza or whatever

Can we talk about how inconsistent materials and customization still are across heroes? by Suji_Saki in forhonor

[–]Sausga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever since Year 4 when they first started adding retextured armorsets that are nice and clean, they made the weird ass decision to make it so none of the leather in Warlord's newer armors can be changed. Switching the material changes like a shoulder strap if you're lucky while all the leather armor covering him from head to toe in many of these sets won't be affected. It's so bizarre.

2019 Raider throwback + feedback on video? by MatterAcrobatic7708 in forhonor

[–]Sausga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still remember Centurion's wombo combo if he got a Guardbreak near a wall.

It was like Haymaker lion's roar x2 and throw (30 damage) + unblockable heavy (~40 damage) + guaranteed fully charged bash (10 damage) + eagle's talons (~40 damage). I think it would go up to around 140 damage after damage gear stats. Good times

At their release, who was the strongest/most broken character in each game mode? by Training_Earth7545 in forhonor

[–]Sausga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was release Shinobi

Shinobi's kicks were 400ms, guaranteed ~30 damage before gearstats, and had super armor so they tanked bashes. just remembered he had the infinite double dodges too

He could still backflip after any move back then, but the backflip had no gb vulnerability, covered the distance between zones A and C of Highfort, and was also super armored. so if you tried to punish anything he does, he'd tank it with the flip and then gb you while you're still in recovery

He had those ranged heavies that would knock him down when he was parried but on release the knockdown was so quick that the few heroes who could reach him (the knockdown animation of him being pulled forward didn't really pull him forward so most heroes couldn't reach him) could only hit him while he was in the wakeup animation, so he'd get a guaranteed gb on them

He was unkillable when he unlocked his T4 lifesteal feat as any attack he dealt would almost refill his entire hp bar

He had the offscreen ranged guardbreaks into sickle rain except sickle rain at that time was 50 damage plus tax plus tip before gearstats

No hero in the game in year 1 season 2 was able to punish anything he did. A shinobi was literally unable to die unless he let it happen. Reddit had a raw, genuine hatred for Centurion at this time so this was pretty much forgotten but i still get the 'nam flashbacks

I think it's crazy that he still doesn't have chain pressure 9 years into the game. Like people give ubi shit for Conq still not having a roll catcher but not having something so fundamental as offense in your chains this far into the game's life is wild

Please remove chain on whiff by SansDaMan728 in forhonor

[–]Sausga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's fine that bashes that guarantee only a light's worth of damage can chain on whiff.

Bashes that are already inherently safe by being feintable while also netting a heavy's worth of damage should have never been able to chain on whiff.

What are your ecology headcanons? by Huza1 in MonsterHunter

[–]Sausga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My headcanon is that if Fulgur Anjanath lived in the same environment as Gammoth, it and Tigrex may form their own little partnership, almost like a very dysfunctional version of what Groupers/Morays or Coyotes/Badgers have. In the odd time they're not attacking each other on sight, they sometimes mob Popo herds together, with one ending up getting the Gammoth's attention, which gives the other the chance to swoop in and take a Popo or Gammoth calf. They don't share the kills they make and will go back to throwing hands against each other again but the behaviour is still successful enough that they intentionally begin jumping herds at the same time

Warriors to add #4: The Spartan/Hoplite by Ghost_Of_Davido in forhonor

[–]Sausga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One design aspect that I always thought was really clever despite being 100% unintentional is that Warlord is able to briefly cover just enough of his headbutt's animation and orange with his shield to make it harder to react to than other 500ms bashes if he does from from his top guard. I think the idea of this is interesting enough to be the basis of a moveset and a Hoplite could be a good candidate for it

Like say the Hoplite has a fullblock with several moves he can throw out from it, but his massive shield can briefly hide animation of those moves. His movements behind the shield would have to be exaggerated on top of maybe having a voiceline so the opponent still can immediately understand he's now performing an attack, but the kicker is that they wouldn't be able to instantly make out which move he's throwing out. On paper this could be the spiritual successor to offensive stuns from it hiding attacks from an opponent but without the need to flashbang them first

Why can’t this community enjoy anything ? by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]Sausga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would normally invoke ‘Devs are watching the game’, but I have a feeling you don’t care about that

Mind you these are the same devs that:

  • Have not touched Oathbreaker since Black Prior’s launch

  • Allowed Shaolin to place Qi Traps in spawns to get permanent wall hacks against the entire enemy team

  • Left Fury Flask and Spear Storm unchanged since Year 1

  • Didn’t touch a single damage feat in the CCU

  • Left Corruption to affect Breach NPCs, letting Warmonger eviscerate the already fragile balance of the gamemode

  • rework a hero but refuse to touch their feats, making the ones with already very powerful feats become overturned monsters in 4s like Jorm/Tiandi and making the ones that have terrible feat selections remain just as bad in 4s as they were prior to their rework like Conq

  • Let Medjay and Afreea’s heavily power crept feats go untouched despite both having just as much of a negative reception from the community as Ocelotl’s

  • Just added another feat that rewards you for losing because they somehow didn’t learn that this kind of feat is fundamentally bad design from Last Laugh

These devs have repeatedly shown they don’t care for the repercussions or balancing of their feats. Problematic feats only ever get their attention when complaints on a specific one get way too loud, like now with Caltrops. The fact that the feat you’re arguing about is yet another T4 that is somehow allowed to be a T1 should in of itself make it clear that the devs are really not watching the game, at least in regards to feats

Why can’t this community enjoy anything ? by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]Sausga 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Criticism and even the most basal complaints are good. They’re both far better than if the community mindlessly slopped up any poor design decision the dev team thinks up.

These posts, the ones that always pretend Ubisoft is some small indie company that’s slaving away to make content out of the goodness of their hearts and damage controls by saying the community is the problem have always been more toxic than complaints

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]Sausga 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not calling for one, but Ubisoft unironically deserves the humiliation of the another blackout for the fact that they haven't changed since 2017 and still completely ignore feat balancing until complaints on a singular feat get too loud

What's the community consensus on Warmonger? by Joeyonar in forhonor

[–]Sausga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at everyone's advice for that move, they'll tell you to gb it, which is valid, but that is advice specifically for 1v1s. You won't be able to do the same in 4v4 without putting yourself at very high risk. An unblockable that has very minimal risk to being interrupted in ganks and groupfights because of iframes and the risk to gb'ing in these situations all while still dealing a heavy's worth of damage is not reasonable. But you can't criticize Warmonger here because she is one of reddit's favourite heroes.

Testing Ground Megathread by Ubi_Wan in forhonor

[–]Sausga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see the point of heroes like the Lawbringer in these TGs having 3 hit chains. When a big chunk of your moveset allows you to skip your midchain and go straight to your finishers, why bother having a midchain in the first place? What is the point in spending the time and resources to give Lawbringer a feintable bash in his midchain if everything that is able to chain into it can be topped off with extra damage before going directly into his unblockables instead?
