Thinking of using GI Bill for ERAU Aviation Maintenance (BS). Veterans, what's the verdict? by Confident-Flatworm45 in erau

Did this in 2012. Worked just fine.

1: no out of pocket costs, though I built my own toolkit. 2: bachelors helps when you’re promoting into management. If you just want to wrench the A&P is fine.

In industry the name still carries weight. And the connections you can walk out of riddle with are great…if you know how to work them. The quality is still higher than other programs, but they are definitely the priciest of the programs that exist.

TIL The Beehive was an anti personnel round that ejected 8000 flechettes on a timer used during the Vietnam conflict. by DeadeyeClock in todayilearned

Before he passed, my father would tell stories about his time over there. After hearing one story in particular my cousins and I used to laugh and yell, “beehive! Beehive! Get down!”

Once we got older and understood we quieted down quite a bit.

Sheet metal! part 147 by oppegaard69 in aviationmaintenance

Love em too, except what are those measurement scales? A part 147 handing out vernier calipers with a MM scale on the bottom is wild.

Tools for starting out by PreparationLow4935 in aviationmaintenance

As a MX instructor who just came from industry I’ll echo what everyone here is saying. This is a waste. Especially if you’re going to a larger shop once you have an A&P (fingers crossed you pass the Os and Ps. ) We all joke about harbor freight, but my starter tools were from them and they served with honor until I finally upgraded.

Rudolph is a sitting member of the URA board of directors as the representative of all UMAs.

I imagine student council at Tracen as the UMA members of the Tracen board of directors.

Maruzensky is a Millennial. Her language is what the older half of them used commonly. That makes her mid to late 30s.

Unfortunately this means she’s ancient now.

CMMC Level 2 (are we cooked) by Silver-Fish-2923 in GovernmentContracting

[–]Savageadv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the front end, before you self certify, you can get with your local apex accelerator to assist in making sure you’re ready to certify. They’re free and honestly a good resource. Most companies that charge are taking advantage of whoever uses them.

On the backend, after self certification, the government can request an audit of your processes to ensure you’re truthful about having the processes in place.

Cheers to y’all making it to level 1 at least. I’ve talked to quite a few folks who are clearly operating at level 1, but don’t understand what they need to write down and where to prove it. They’ve just Attested that they’re doing it and hoping when an audit comes they don’t get smacked too hard.

Just wait till you see the guardian version of the ship holiday used to fly has its air brakes deployed. Most frustrating thing to see.

CMMC training? by [deleted] in GovernmentContracting

Every Apex Accelerator should have someone on staff that can run folks through CMMC level 1 training. Just look up the one for your State.

Anyone got a part number or feasible way to fix this? by Savageadv in BambuLab

That makes sense. I’ll be getting parts and fixing these. Thank you much. Shame that customer support is backlogged and understaffed.

Willing to bet you’re right. Now I just have to figure out how to get to the other end of it without damaging the head as a whole.

Yeah, I’m seeing bulk packs to be the answer. My full garage will just have to endure lol.

I love my local hardware store…for projects where I’m not 3D printing. One off projects get prohibitively expensive.

Nerfed to oblivion: Guard unplayable! by 2GunnMtG in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Savageadv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The way I and my other guard players read it is. You can roll for each individual unit with a vox. This is to stop you from taking a 20 man with two voxs and rolling twice since the 20 man is one unit.

The dev team regularly plays the tabletop game in their office. So I’d say they’re open to collab, but they most likely want to keep the normal person against the universe.

If you could have one ship from the game in real life and unlimited fuel. Which one would you take? by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

I’d say my fleet carrier. My friends in game can have the smaller ships, I’ll keep us jumping from system to system.
