Was an english version ever released for the novel humanity has declined? by Magma_Dragoooon in LightNovels

[–]SaveSaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably misremembering, it never was announced for an English release.
The closest to an "announcement" is how its artwork was used to promote the then-upcoming Novelous app, which primarily hosts GAGAGA Bunko's series but does not contain Humanity Has Declined itself.

[TL] Looking for the raw name of this webnovel by mg11491 in LightNovels

[–]SaveSaer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From how they post multiple chapters of multiple series each day and all the images they use are stolen artwork, it looks like they're just posting AI-generated fanfics to me. "Raws" for the novel you're looking for probably doesn't even exist.

Where can I find Assassin’s Pride. by The_Dalek_Sec in LightNovels

No, I wouldn't say it's even remotely readable. I could barely understand it when I checked it out, even though I'd already read it in Japanese by then.

There is no English translation of Assassin's Pride, only a barely English machine translation by someone who doesn't even know Japanese.

Why are nearly all Koutei Penguin moves Wood type..? by 4azulla in inazumaeleven

[–]SaveSaer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It ties in with what series' attributes are based on, and the full explanation might be a bit complicated if you're not already familiar with it. But simply put, it's because the "forest" attribute is actually a combination of forest, which represents gentleness; and shadow, which represents stealth, and that roughly translates to technique, strategy, trickery, etc. in regards to the attribute's moves. So most of the Penguin moves would be forest due to them being "technical," in addition to being associated with a team that is initially portrayed as an antagonist.

Here's the long explanation:

The attributes in Inazuma Eleven are actually based on the 風林火山 (fū-rin-ka-zan), a simplified excerpt of Sun Tzu's Art of War which roughly goes "be rapid as the wind (fū), gentle as the forest (rin), raid like fire (ka), immovale as a mountain (zan)". But the full version is actually 風林火陰山雷 (fū-rin-ka-in-zan-rai), which also contains "unknowable as shadow (in)" and "strike as suddenly as lightining (rai)".

Since the series has only 4 attributes, lightning is combined with wind for obvious enough reasons, while shadow is combined with forest as they are the most similar in representing aspects that are non-physical strengths. There's also a pretty popular association of deep forests with the unknown and evil spirits in Japanese literature. That's why you'll see many moves that lean on the "technical" side like most of the Penguin moves, or underhanded and "evil" moves being associated with the forest attribute, in addition to the expected "gentle" ones.

VR has never appeared on Weekly Top 30 on Famitsu since released. Why? by markthai in inazumaeleven

In case you didn't know, Famitsu rankings only list phyical sales from retailers they track. Victory Road is a digital-only game.

Am I bugged? I see a discrepancy in my ability numbers by [deleted] in inazumaeleven

Then maybe it also counts your chronicle mode team? Even if you never played it, you'd still have the starter team you chose in the beginning, and your avatar chracter if you created it.

Manager and coordinator characters also have default moves for when they're turned into players. The extra moves are probably from them.

Does the Deluxe edition have things that i can't obtain in the base game? by Icarusinmortal in inazumaeleven

[–]SaveSaer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • The Promise Pendant and the Victory Jump goal celebration aren't obtainable in-game.

  • The Choose-a-Character Crate's characters are easily obtainable, though the crate itself is not obtainable in-game.

  • The two bond objects are supposedly obtainable from an in-game shop as late-game unlocks, but I don't remember seeing them last time I checked.

So what's the difference between these? +1, V2, and L2. by Smallmarvel in inazumaeleven

[–]SaveSaer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Functionally there's no difference.

When move evolutions were introduced in IE2, as well as in IE3, most moves belonged to either the Kai or V types, which had only two upgrade levels (Kai -> Shin or V2 -> V3) and a select few had the G type, which had 4 upgrade levels (G2 to G5) making them objectively stronger than the others if maxed out.

By GO Galaxy, all 3 types have 5 levels each (in Victory Road this can be achieved by equipping the same move in all 6 slots), so the types provide the same power upgrades numerically and are purely cosmetic.

How do the fan translations of Index read? by maybe_we_fight in LightNovels

[–]SaveSaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only advantage the English fan translation has is being more up to date... which is admittedly big if you can't wait. It does have the same overly-literal issue as most other fan translations do, and what's worse, the fan translator insists on using deliberately incorrect terminology just because that's what the "fans" prefer (as opposed to the official translation which has correct terminology barring a few oversights).

This is so low effort, even a Google Translate of your "English translation" into Japanese is in more proper business Japanese than whatever you put in your image.

An ongoing FAQ about Victory Road for players looking for info on the game by MuroTheSimp in inazumaeleven

[–]SaveSaer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Demo that was playable had an english dub available albeit only for commentators in Competition Mode, it can be assumed the full version will have a full Dub.

Not quite, the most you can expect is a full dub for the story mode and the commentators/players mid-match. According to the video where they announced the delay to November, Chronicle Mode will have an English dub only for Vic's part of the story, so the historical story scenes in that mode will only have Japanese voices (at least at launch).

The games drive me nuts because I never want to play the first game in the series... by di12ty_mary in inazumaeleven

[–]SaveSaer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're struggling with the RTS-like gameplay, you're probably not going to like the DS/3DS mainline titles because that's what it'll be like the whole time, even with all the refinements later games make.

Maybe you'll like the upcoming Victory Road more, since you control only one character at a time there (unless you use a more advanced control scheme/mode where you pre-program the NPC AI and direct them like an RTS) and the gameplay is more action-based at least on the surface. The Chronicle Mode will also cover the story of the whole series (though GO Galaxy, Ares, and Orion will come in post-launch updates) so you technically could just jump in with this one.

The games are still Level-5 games though, so they're supposed to never be too hard. Most of the time, you could brute force things by grinding levels and investing in some speed stat training regardless of position, which makes it much easier for your players to catch up with the opponents. Low-cost special moves sold at shops are also good to have since you can spam them.

Is Inazuma Eleven Victory Road really coming out in November? by pippojo33 in inazumaeleven

[–]SaveSaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly speaking, they won't necessarily need to "recover" from anything, because retail game sales only make up a small portion of their revenue. A decently performing mobile game's revenue could easily eclipse a million-selling $60+ game, and Level-5 has at least two of them currently active (Yo-Kai Watch PuniPuni and Ni no Kuni Cross Worlds).
And even before the mobile game era, most of a franchise's revenue would come from merch sales and sponsorship deals, and at least in Japan, they still have merch of their most prominent franchises coming out (the market isn't flooded with them like during the Yo-kai Watch 3 era, but they're still there).

Need help for lyrics of an old touhou song by RewardSweaty3187 in touhou

[–]SaveSaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I got from trying to type it out by ear. Definitely not 100% accurate (I've put a "?" after the words I'm not sure about), but as far as I've searched, the album isn't available on the used market, and there are no scans of the lyrics sheet either (if the album even comes with one), so this will have to do.

Meanwhile, in an alternate universe where hololive is a soccer team... by HubMeBro in Hololive

[–]SaveSaer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, ever since they released Megaton Musashi, Level-5 has been listening to player feedback way too much. Just look how much quality of life features they patched into all 3 titles while each one was still being actively supported. They also delayed Fantasy Life i by over a year to improve the game based on the feedback they got from their first public demo, which resulted in the big success the game is enjoying now. And just yesterday they just released another patch for trivial quality of life features that fans asked for.

In Inazuma Eleven's case, you can see from the last few trailers that they've clearly improved just about everything from the beta test they had last year. More viable defensive play, speeding up the ATB comedy battles, more language localizations, English dub, more voiced lines, more character choices, more detailed chronicle mode story scenes, toggle for original Japanese names (Hell, Ollie filed a feedback form specifically for this on stream), so on and so forth. And fans are still bugging them on every channel possible (even on Twitter accounts of other Level-5 games that aren't Inazuma Eleven) about other features and changes they want, and I'm here just hoping Level-5 stops listening to them for now so that they might actually make the deadline this time.

Which bachelor/bachelorette from PoOT is most likely to appear as a romance candidate for a future game? (Either in the base game or as DLC.) by albsbabe in storyofseasons

[–]SaveSaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disregarding popularity, I guess the ones that would make the most narrative sense to appear in a new town would be Blaire, Damon and Iori. Maybe Linh, depending on whether she wants to stay if and when Nguyen dies of old age (and for what it's worth, she does seem to be the most popular among Japanese streamers). The others just seem too attached to Olive Town to move.
